Sorel Vaults Into the Lead

Kyle Sorel raised from early position, Christopher Ulsrud called from the hijack, and the player in the big blind called to see a flop of {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop.

Action checked to Sorel who continued for 11,000. Ulsrud raised to 27,000, the player in the big blind folded, and Sorel reraised to 60,000. Ulsrud shoved for about 330,000 and Sorel called.

After a late position open to 5,000, Joe Cassidy looked down at his cards on the button. He moved forward a three-bet to 11,400 only to have the action be four-bet to 32,000 by Liv Boeree from the small blind. The big blind and the original opener folded, leaving the action back on Cassidy. He announced a five-bet ship all in 116,600 total. Boeree took a moment before announcing a call.

Cassidy: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Boeree took the lead after the flop fell {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and clinched the elimination after the {4-Diamonds} and the {2-Hearts} completed the board. Cassidy made his exit from the tournament area while Boeree boosted her stack to 240,000.

Ladouceur Beats Merson

Action folded to Marc-Andre Ladouceur on the button, and he raised to 5,000. Greg Merson, 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event champion, reraised to 13,000 from the small blind, and Ladouceur called.

The flop was {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and both players checked to see the {Q-Diamonds} land on the river. Here, they also both checked. Then, the {A-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Merson checked, and Ladouceur checked behind.

Merson showed the {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}, but Ladouceur beat him with the {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Srinivasan Takes Carvalho Out

The flop came down {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Srinivasan checked. Souza bet 8,100. Calderaro called, then Srinivasan folded.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds}, and both Souza and Calderaro checked to see the {8-Spades} land on the river. Souza moved all in, effectively shoving for Calderaro's last 40,000 or so. Calderaro folded, and Souza won the pot.
