Ankush Mandavia Eliminated in 3rd Place ($787,640)

Level 23 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante
Ankush Mandavia - 3rd Place
Ankush Mandavia - 3rd Place

Hand #112: Ankush Mandavia raised to 320,000 with the {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on the button, Joe McKeehen defended the big blind with the {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, and the flop came down {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. McKeehen checked, Mandavia bet 500,000, and the reigning World Series of Poker Main Event champ moved all in with his straight and flush draw. Mandavia snap-folded.

Hand #113: McKeehen limped the small blind with the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Mandavia raised to 460,000 from the big blind with the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and the flop fell {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. McKeehen checked, Mandavia did the same, and the {8-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn.

McKeehen opted to bet 475,000 with his flush draw, Mandavia called with his open-ender, and the {10-Spades} peeled off on the river to pair both players. McKeehen bet 750,000 and Mandavia called only to discover the bad news. Mandavia was left with just 12 big blinds after the hand.

Hand #114: Bryn Kenney limped the small blind with the {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}, McKeehen raised to 480,000 from the big with the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, and Kenney folded.

Hand #115: McKeehen raised to 375,000 from the small blind with the {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and won the pot after Mandavia released the {j-Clubs}{2-Hearts} in the big.

Hand #116: Mandavia moved all in for 2.135 million from the small blind and Kenney called from the big blind.

Mandavia: {k-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Kenney: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Mandavia was way behind and had just a 23% chance of surviving the hand. The {10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop was no help to Mandavia, and neither was the {3-Diamonds}. Mandavia needed a four on the river to stay alive, but it wasn't in the cards as the {7-Diamonds} bricked.
