All In For Altman, Too Much for Yoon

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Brian Altman
Brian Altman

Brian Altman just shoved the river on Brian Yoon and won the pot when Yoon folded.

Altman started the action with a 400 preflop raise. Yoon reraised to 1,200 and Altman called.

The flop came {4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Altman checked, letting Yoon lead the way. Yoon bet 1,200 and Altman called.

The turn was the {k-Hearts} and Altman checked again. Yoon bet 2,600 and Altman called.

The river was the {k-Spades} and Altman checked for a third time. This time Yoon bet 7,000 and put the action back on Altman. Altman thought for a moment and then raised all in. Yoon didn't take long to fold and Altman took down the pot. Altman is off to a fast start already almost doubling his starting stack.

Singh's Second Pair is Good

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Three players saw the {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, including Melisa Singh. The small blind checked, Singh checked, and the last player to act bet 2,000. Singh was the lone caller.

Both players checked down the {7-Hearts} turn and the {8-Hearts} river. Singh's opponent showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for ace high. Singh took down the pot when she showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens.

A Couple of Raises

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
  • Early in level 1, most of the pots are small, but there are a lot of chances to set the pace for the rest of the day. On this hand, a player raised to 225 from middle position into defending PCA Main Event Champ Kevin Schulz's big blind. Schulz wasted little time before reraising to 800 and taking down the pot.
  • John Racener has been active early, on this hand the former WSOP Main Event runner-up saw a flop heads up for 300. He checked the {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop and raised when his opponent bet 400. Racener made it 1,200 and that was enough to win the hand.
