Qu Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Boyuan Qu seems poised to make a deep run. On this hand he called a 7,000 Dalton Brinker raise from the big blind.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Qu bet 8,500. Brinker raised to 29,000 and Qu called.

The river was the {6-Spades} and both players checked again. Qu showed {q-Spades}{j-Spades} and won the hand with a pair of jacks.

Nishijima's in a Tough Spot

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Scott Wellenbach raised to 7,500 from the cutoff and Thiago Nishijima three-bet from the button to 20,000 after which Siarhei Melianiuk flat-called from the small blind. Wellenbach called as well, creating three-way action on the flop.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Melianiuk lead out for 33,000 right away, getting Wellenbach to quickly fold.

Nishijima tanked for well over three minutes before folding, leaving himself with 131,000 chips.

Zamani Resets the Day, Eliminates Zaichenko

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

In the early goings of Day 3 Ben Zamani lost some chips, but he came storming back to his Day 3 starting stack on back-to-back hands.

Hand #1: Robert Kokoska raised to 7,200 and Zamani called. Andrey Zaichenko shoved from the big blind for his last 55,600 chips. Kokoska folded and Zamani asked for a count. Eventually he reluctantly dropped his chips into the pot to call.

Zamani was ahead with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Zaichenko had {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. The board ran out {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Zaichenko was eliminated.

Hand #2: Kokoska raised again preflop to 7,200 and this time Zamani reraised to 14,900. Kokoska let it go and Zamani took another pot.

Rabah Takes Some Off Jaffe Just Before the Break

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Jonathan Jaffe
Jonathan Jaffe

As the rest of the players were heading to break, Jonathan Jaffe was facing a tough decision on the river.

The board read {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Fabian Chauriye Rabah had bet 35,000. Jaffe called and Rabah turned over pocket queens, {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}, for a full house. Jaffe mucked and headed off to join the rest of the field on the break.
