Adams Applies Pressure

Level 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

There were about 8,500 chips in the pot and the board read {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} when we got to the table. Cliff Josephy bet 4,000 from the big blind and Timothy Adams called from the button.

The {9-Spades} fell on the river and Josephy checked. Adams bet 18,500, Josephy quickly folded, and Adams took the pot.

Seymour Roughs Up Perry

Level 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

Richard Seymour raised to 1,100 from the cutoff and Sean Perry defended his big blind. The flop came {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {j-Spades} on the turn.

Perry led out for 1,600 and Seymour called to see the {3-Diamonds} on the river. Perry checked this time and Seymour tossed in a bet of 2,200. Perry quickly called and Seymour showed him the {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for trip jacks to scoop the pot.

Chidwick Doubles with Big Slick

Level 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

Kevin Hobbs opened to 1,100 from early position and Stephen Chidwick called from the cutoff along with the button. Noah Schwartz three-bet to 4,500 from the small blind and Hobbs quickly called. Chidwick splashed in the rest of his 36,600 chips forcing the button to quickly fold. Schwartz called while Hobbs reluctantly gave up his hand.

Stephen Chidwick: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Noah Schwartz: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs} giving Chidwick the lead with a pair of kings, while Hobbs went into a state of distress, stating he folded pocket tens. Meanwhile, Schwartz would be looking for a jack, and a jack only, to win the pot. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn provided him with some straight outs, but the {8-Spades} on the river bricked off and Chidwick scored a big double up.

Sontheimer Stacks Koon

Level 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

There were about 21,000 chips in the pot and the board read {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} when we got to the table. Jason Koon was on the button, had already committed a single T-5,000 chip, and was facing a decision for a total of 14,500 from Steffen Sontheimer, who was in the hijack. Koon jammed and Sontheimer quickly called to put Koon at risk.

Sontheimer: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Koon: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Sontheimer was way ahead with the bigger overpair and Koon needed help in order to stay alive. The {3-Diamonds} turn and {9-Spades} river changed nothing, so Sontheimer took the pot to send Koon to the rail.

Update on the Comings and Goings

Level 3 : 150/300, 300 ante

The chips are really starting to fly across the tables here early on Day 1 and some of the players haven't been fortunate enough to keep some in front of them.

Steve O'Dwyer, Jean-Noel Thorel, Jason Koon, and Xixiang Luo have all required a second bullet while Mike Leah has been eliminated and not yet came back.

New faces Dan Shak and Ramin Hajiyev have taken their seat.
