Day 1 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2018 $25,000 3-Day High Roller has come to an end with 50 players moving on to Day 2.

The action kicked off at noon local time inside the Atlantis Resort on the beautiful Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The field grew all day capping off with 141 total entries. Each player was permitted one re-entry and 42 took advantage of the second chance.

When the dust settled, it was Mikita Badziakouski slightly out-chipping Nick Petrangelo for the top spot on the leaderboard. Badziakouski bagged 403,500 while Petrangelo carries forward a healthy 397,700.

Jonathan Jaffe (350,000), Ryan Mceathron (343,000) and PokerStars Team Pro Igor Kurganov (334,000) round out the top five while the likes of Jean-Noel Thorel (275,000), Ankush Mandavia (262,000), Steve O'Dwyer (231,500), and Isaac Haxton (227,100) will all carry sizeable stacks into Day 2.

Joining Kurganov on Day 2 are PokerStars Team Pros Daniel Negreanu (153,800), Andre Akkari (57,000), and Liv Boeree (52,000). Jeff Gross was in attendance but was one and done hitting the rail soon after the dinner break.

Ben Tollerene was the first player to fire both bullets and miss the target. Following in Tollerene's footsteps were Vladimir Troyanovskiy, Igor Yaroshevskyy, Ivan Luca, Ryan Riess, and Orpen Kisacikoglu among others.

Play resumes at noon local time on Saturday with another 10, 60-minute levels on the schedule. Registration does remain open until the clock starts on Day 2 so there are a few players that have another bullet in the barrel and some who did not show up for Day 1.

Four More Hands Tonight

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The clock on Day 1 has been paused and each table will play four more hands before the surviving players bag their chips for the night. Stay tuned for a full recap of the day's action and chip counts of the remaining players.

Sontheimer Wisely Checks the River

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 4,500 from early position and Steffen Sontheimer came along for the ride on the button. The flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Kurganov continued for 7,000. Sontheimer called and the {3-Hearts} rolled off on the turn.

Kurganov fired another 14,000, only to have Sontheimer raise to 41,000. Kurganov called and the {7-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. Kurganov quickly checked and Sontheimer instantly snapped his fingers to signal a check as well. Kurganov tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a full house and Sontheimer just laughed as he mucked his cards.

Koon Gets Value

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There were about 16,000 chips already in the middle and the board read {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} when we got to the table. Mike Watson bet 7,500 from the small blind, Joao Simao folded from the big blind, and Jason Koon called from the cutoff.

The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and both players checked.

The {A-Spades} fell on the river and Watson checked. Koon wordlessly tossed out a single T-25,000 chip, and with less than 10 seconds remaining on the shot clock, Watson called. Koon tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for a rivered pair of aces, Watson mucked, and Koon took the pot.

Petrangelo Keeps Climbing

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded around to Anthony Zinno in the cutoff and he raised to 5,500. Nick Petrangelo called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Petrangelo checked. Zinno bet 6,000 and Petrangelo called.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and both players checked.

The {A-Hearts} fell on the river and Petrangelo bet 15,000. With just a few seconds remaining on the shot clock, Zinno called. Petrangelo tabled {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and his pair of kings was good enough to win the pot, which put his stack over the 400,000-chip mark.

PokerStars Team pro Liv Boeree is back in action with her second bullet of the evening. Cliff Josephy has also been eliminated but does have the option of firing another bullet. Ramin Hajiyev, on the other hand, has busted both bullets today and is no longer in the hunt.

Machon Spikes an Ace to Double Up

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

After a series of preflop raises, Bartlomiej Machon and Almedin Imsirovic got all of their chips in the middle with Machon being the player at risk for 75,700. Imsirovic was well ahead with {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} against Machon's {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

However, the flop fell {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Machon spiked an ace on the flop to leave Imsirovic drawing to a single king left in the deck. The {2-Spades} and the {4-Clubs} completed the board and Machon scored a big double up in the last level of the night.
