Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

On Day 1 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2018 $25,000 3-Day High Roller, 141 entries took to the felt, but just 50 players will take chips out of the bag when Day 2 action kicks off at noon local time. Leading the way is Mikita Badziakouski (403,500), who was the only player to bag a stack in excess of the 400,000-chip mark. Nick Petrangelo sits just behind him in the chip counts with 397,700.

Jonathan Jaffe (350,000), Ryan McEathron (343,000) and PokerStars Team Pro Igor Kurganov (334,000) round out the top five stacks. The chip leaders are joined by a slew of highly accomplished players, including Ankush Mandavia (262,000), Isaac Haxton (227,100), Mike Watson (208,500), Ari Engel (206,400), and recent $25,000 Single-Day High Roller winner Jason Koon (144,200). PokerStars Team Pros Daniel Negreanu (153,800), Andre Akkari (57,000), and Liv Boeree (52,000) will also return for Day 2.

Late registration and reentry remain open until the clock starts running on Day 2. The second day of play will consist of ten one-hour levels with a 20-minute break every two levels and an 80-minute dinner break following the conclusion of level 16.

Keep it here for continuing coverage of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 3-Day High Roller and the final two days of the $10,300 Main Event, proudly presented by the PokerNews Live Reporting Team.

Zinno Stacks Kempe on Day's First Hand

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Anthony Zinno raised to 5,500 from early position and Rainer Kempe, who had just reentered for the start of Day 2, shoved from the small blind. Zinno called to put Kempe at risk and the two players tabled their hands.

Kempe: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Zinno: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

Kempe was racing for his stack and needed help from the deck to survive. Zinno extended his lead when he hit a set on the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, the {6-Clubs} turn and {2-Spades} river changed nothing, and Zinno took the pot to end Kempe's tournament.

Aces vs Kings

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Dimitar Danchev opened to 5,000 from the hijack and Christopher Kruk three-bet to 15,000 on the button. Javier Gomez Zapatero made a four-bet to 40,000 from the small blind and the action was back on Danchev. He announced a five-bet shove for 123,800 and it was now Kruk's turn to play a little Hollywood. After asking for a count, and then counting his own chips, Kruk pushed the last of his 104,700 chips into the middle as well. Zapatero folded with a shake of his head and the remaining two hands were tabled.

It was no surprise to see two big hands, Danchev with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and Kruk with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Kruk's pocket aces held up to leave Danchev with just crumbs.

Within the next couple hands, Danchev was seen exiting the tournament area as his run has come to an end.

Greenberg Pushing Back

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Larry Greenberg opened to 5,100 from middle position only to see Isaac Haxton three-bet on the button, making it 15,300 to go. Greenberg took no time pumping it up with a four-bet to 50,000 and Haxton quickly released his cards to the muck.
