Haxton Leaves Kaverman Short

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

At the end of the previous level, Byron Kaverman made it 9,000 to go first to act and Isaac Haxton called on the button. The flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} and Kaverman checked, Haxton bet 16,000 and Kaverman called. After the {8-Diamonds} turn, Kaverman check-called another 50,000 and checked the {5-Clubs} river.

Kaverman then faced a bet of 145,000 by Haxton and called for a big portion of his stack. Haxton rolled over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for the straight and won the pot.

Moments into the new level, Kaverman doubled his short stack out of the big blind with {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} against the {A-Spades}{5-Hearts} of Steffen Sontheimer on the button. Sontheimer flopped top pair, but Kaverman rivered a flush on {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.
