He is trailed closely by Lebanese High Stakes PLO grinder, Jeff Hakim, who bagged up 2,640,000 a difference of just 65,000 chips. WPT L.A. Poker Classic Main Event 2017 champ Daniel Strelitz will start the day 3rd is chips with 2,615,000 and is followed by EPT Prague $50,000 High Roller winner Matthias Eibinger (2,485,000).

With only 20 players left, everyone remaining is guaranteed a payday of at least $60,840 but of course, that's not what they are eyeing. Those who are lucky enough to advance to the final table are guaranteed a payday of at least $146,840 and up for grabs is a first place prize of $1,567,100 as well as the PCA Main Event trophy.

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Scott Wellenbach
Scott Wellenbach

Tommy Nguyen raised to 70,000 from the hijack. Scott Wellenbach, in the small blind, three-bet to 260,000. Nguyen added the remainder to call.

The dealer spread a flop of {9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Wellenbach bet 270,000. Nguyen called.

The turn came the {4-Diamonds}. Wellenbach checked. Nguyen fired 300,000. Wellenbach check-called.

The {10-Hearts} river filled up the board. Wellenbach checked again. Nguyen moved all in for 2,000,000. Wellenbach went deep into the tank, then proceeded to make the call. Nguyen showed {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a bluff and Wellenbach revealed {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} to win the pot.

Eibinger Makes His Presence Known

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Matthias Eibinger
Matthias Eibinger

The skirmishes between Chino Rheem and Matthias Eibinger have come to an end (at least, for now) as Eibinger has been moved to the open seat of Bob Bounahra, to the left of Brian Altman. Altman and Eibinger got involved in a blind battle right away.

Altman limped in from the small blind and Eibinger checked his option. On the {3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Altman checked, Eibinger bet 25,000, Altman check-raised to 100,000 and Eibinger called. Altman continued with 200,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn and Eibinger called again.

"Eight hundred," Altman announced on the {J-Clubs} river and Eibinger snapped him off with {8-Clubs}{3-Spades} for two pair. Altman had {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for just seven high to hand Eibinger a big chip lead.

Danny Tang Eliminated in 18th Place ($60,840)

Level 23 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Danny Tang
Danny Tang

The hand before, Danny Tang three-bet on the button after a raise, Chino Rheem four-bet from the blinds and Tang had to fold. Left with 385,000, Tang put 375,000 of those forward in the cutoff and Rheem called on the button. Rheem accidentally exposed his hole cards early, but no issue was made of it and the extra chips went in as a formality.

Danny Tang: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Chino Rheem: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

The flop was {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} and Tang asked for an eight to give him some help. The turn was the {2-Spades} and Tang already announced "good game" before the {4-Diamonds} river was dealt. Tang finished in 18th place and collected $60,840 as the other 17 players went on break.

Enrico Camosci Eliminated in 17th Place ($69,220)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Enrico Camosci
Enrico Camosci

In the very next hand after losing all but one big blind, Enrico Camosci was in the small blind and Christoph Vogelsang on the button raised to 60,000. Camosci called all in for 35,000 and Brian Altman called in the big blind. The remaining two active players checked the {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and Altman's bet of 175,000 on the {7-Spades} turn forced a fold from Vogelsang.

Enrico Camosci: {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Brian Altman: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The Italian rail was asking for an ace, but their wish wasn't granted with a blank {Q-Spades} river. Camosci was eliminated in 17th place for $69,220 and the remaining 16 players will now redraw to the last two tables.

Joao Simao Eliminated in 16th Place ($69,220)

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 65,000 in middle position, Joao Simao three-bet shoved 460,000 from the blinds and Vogelsang instantly called it off.

Joao Simao: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Christoph Vogelsang: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari was on the rail to cheer for his countryman on and the Brazilians saw the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop add a flush draw to the outs. The {10-Hearts} on the turn meant Simao could only win with a flush, but the river was the {10-Diamonds} instead to deliver him death by quads.

Strelitz Wins Flip to Double Through Nguyen

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Daniel Strelitz
Daniel Strelitz

Mihai Manole had opened and Tommy Nguyen three-bet in the hijack to 170,000. Daniel Strelitz in the big blind four-bet all in for 1,215,000 and Manole folded. Nguyen asked for a count and used four time banks before tossing in a single chip for the call.

Daniel Strelitz: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Tommy Nguyen: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

It was a classic flip and Strelitz took the lead on the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Running straight outs for Nguyen were shut down on the {K-Diamonds} turn as Strelitz improved to trips kings, and the {10-Diamonds} river changed nothing whatsoever to keep Strelitz in contention.

Nguyen, who had started the day as the chip leader, suddenly dropped to fewer than 20 big blinds.
