Welcome to Day 1 of the $1,100 Brazilian Series of Poker(BSOP) Bahamas Main Event at the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. Cards go in the air at 2 p.m. local time for the first of three days of play.
This is the first time for the BSOP as the PCA returns to the shallow seas for the first time since 2019. Also kicking off on Sunday is the $100,000 PCA High Roller, and the $10,300 PCA Main Event begins on Monday. PokerNews will be on hand to cover more events than ever before, leading up to the $25,000 PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship on January 30.

Players will start with 30,000 and reentries are unlimited through the end of Level 10 on Day 2. Day 1 will play eight 60-minute levels with a 20-minute break every two and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 6.

The cards are now in the air and action is underway in the $1,100 Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) Bahamas Main Event. There are currently 45 entries seated at the start of the tournament.
Action was heads up with around 10,000 in the pot and a full board of when Christopher Turnbull bet 11,000. Bedri Hoxha went into the tank for a few moments, but ultimately it was too much and he got away from it.
Elsewhere in the room, Jonathan Little, Diana Kalietina, and Jose Totel are among the early faces in the opening level of Day 1.

In a heads-up pot with roughly 2,000 in the middle on a completed board showing , Michael Schaeffer led out for 800 from the small blind and was quickly called by Christopher Turnbull in the cutoff.
Schaeffer tabled for a rivered flush while Turnbull looked surprised to see such a strong hand and mucked his cards.
"I didn't even know there was a flush draw out there," joked Turnbull while Schaeffer collected the early chips.

Jonathan Little raised to 500 from the cutoff before Michael Rudolph called from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and action was heads up.
Both players checked the flop to see on the turn. Little fired 3,000 and Rudolph paused for a few moments before he jammed his last 16,000. Little tossed out chips to call and turned over , but Rudolph had him trapped with the .
The river was to improve Little to kings and queens and send Rudolph to the rail with cracked pocket aces in early Level 1 action.

The action was picked up in a pot of 3,600 on a board showing between Paul Ephremsen in the cutoff and Franco Spitale on the button.
Play was checked to the river, and without much thought, Ephremsen assembled a bet of 1,700. Spitale contemplated his options, but in the end, tossed in a single chip for the call.
Ephremsen rolled over for an overpair and enough to score the pot as Spitale sent his cards to the dealer.

Action was three ways with 700 in the middle and on the board when Fady Habashi checked from the small blind before Frederic Robert checked from the big blind. Ricardo Mateo bet 300 from late position and both players called.
The turn was and all three players checked to see on the river.
Habashi checked the river before Robert bet 1,500, and Mateo got out of the way while Habashi tossed in the chips to call. Robert turned over to take the pot with the flush and Habashi tossed the losing hand in the muck.
