Boasting an affordable HK$6,600 (~US$845) buy-in the tournament looks primed to attract an eclectic mix of keen recreational players and seasoned professionals, all eager to win a share of the HK$8M (~US$1M) guaranteed prize pool.
There are eight starting flights to chose from, including two with turbo structures, giving players the ultimate in flexibility when it comes to choosing when and how to begin their quest for glory.
Players buying into any of the Day 1 Main Event flights sit down with 15,000 chips and play eighteen 40-minute levels with blinds starting at 25/50. Late registration is open until the start of the level 10 and multiple re-entries are permitted while late registration is available.
Players are allowed to play more than one Day 1, but should they progress to Day 2 more than once, only their largest stack is taken through with them. Play continues on Day 1 until only 15 percent of the field remains, with these players making it to Day 2.
In a small twist, it is possible to buy into the HK$8 million guaranteed Main Event on Day 2A or Day 2B for HK$38,000 (US$4,850). Anyone taking this route will receive a 100,000-chip starting stack.

So far we have four early birds already registered, which is the minimum number required to get the cards in the air so we will be starting on time today. So far there are four nations represented with China’s Hongyu Su, Korea’s Soo Young Kim, Taiwan’s Kuo Chen Wang and Italy’s Francesco Vitali adding a little international flair. Stick around and we’ll bring you all the action as it plays out.

And we're off. Hong Kong's Wingkei Chan has just registered and taken his seat and will be attempting to improve on his Day 1B performance were he made the final five but came up just short after his pocket kings were outdrawn by the ace-queen suited of Justin Chan. Chan too was unable to make it through to Day 2 so we also expect to see him at some point this week as he attempts to lock up a day 2 berth.

Another familiar face has registered with China’s Yue Feng, who played Day 1A, returning to win himself a Day 2 seat. While it’s still too early to tell whether Feng will be successful in his quest he’s certainly got off to the right start.
It was Wingkei Chan opening the action in this particular hand, making it 150 to go from under-the-gun. Soo Young Kim made the call from the small blind before Feng squeezed to 550 from the big blind. This deterred no one and both Chan and Kim called to take the action three-way to a monochrome flop of .
Kim checked the action over to Feng, who fired for 850 and while this was enough to get Chan to give it up Kim made the call to bring the action heads-up to the turn.
Kim checked for the second time and Feng bet big, leading out for 2,150, which was enough to fold out Kim and win Feng the hand.
Four more players have now registered to bring the total number of entries up to 10 with China’s Lu Zou and Hong Kong’s Yu Fai Wu, Joey Ho and Wayne Heung all joining the action.

The field has now grown to 13 and is up to two tables with Hong Kong’s Chun Kit Chan, Chow Hung Ching and Ho Yin Tai joining the action.
One of the new arrivals, we’re not sure which yet as still have to put names to faces, jumped straight into the action over on table three (table one is not open yet) and opened for 125 from under-the-gun.
Italy’s Francesco Vitali made the call before Taiwan’s Kuo Chen Wang made it 650 to go from the cutoff with both opponents making the call to take the action three-way to a flop of . Both players checked to the aggressor and Wang fired for 1,000, which was enough to get it done and get on the scoreboard.

The field has now grown to 17 players with the arrival of Joshua Zimmerman, Tsunchi Yu, Percy Chao and his better half Christina Lai.
However, it was Hong Kong’s Yu Fai Wu and fellow countryman Chow Hung Ching who we caught in action in this particular hand. It was Wu who was the initial aggressor, opening the action to 350 from early position with Francesco Vitali (button) and Ching (big blind) both making the call to take the action three-way to a flop of .
Ching checked the action over to Wu, who continuation bet 600 and while this was enough to deter Vitali, Ching made the call and the hit the turn, completing a possible straight.
Ching now led for 600 and Wu made a quick call to bring in the river. This doesn’t look like it changed anything and Ching continued to sell a believable story, leading out for 2,000.
This was enough to get Wu to give it up and he folded to drop down to 13,900 leaving Ching free to rake in the pot and climb to 16,600.

There have been a slew of new arrivals with Tin Lam Wong, Chun Ming Lee, Ka Meng Ho, Wei Tso, Bing Wang and Jun Zhong Loo all signing up to bring the number of entries up to 21, spread over three tables.
By far the most accomplished of all these new arrivals is Malaysia’s Junzhong Loo, who is the field’s sole World Series bracelet winner. Loo took down the 2014 WSOP Asia Pacific A$2,200 event for a cool US$94,019 payday and is a regular face here in Macau.
