Day 1c of the 2018 Poker King Cup Macau HK$16,500 Main Event is in the books and attracted 84 players in total. Combined with the Day 1a (166) and Day 1b (268) entries, the total number of entries for the Main Event tallies up to 518. At the end of the night, 42 of them tagged a bag and Ke Fei Na took the chip lead honors for Day 1c with 139,600 in chips.

Trailing by only one big blind in second place is Yue Feng Tang with 137,100. Tang has a few recorded tournament cashes in comparison to Na who seems to have none. But none of Tang’s cashes have been huge in any way, and after bricking the High Roller this week, he will be looking to change this. Hong Bing Li closes the all-Chinese podium for Day 1c with 130,900.

Even though Day 1c was a turbo, it seemed most players were cautious to put their chips over the line. Knowing this was their last chance to make it through to Day 2, players were taking it a bit slower to make sure they would all make it to the finish line in the end. Some of the notable players failing at the final hurdle include Quan Zhou, Aaron Lim, and Jason Lo.

Of the 42 players through to Day 2, only one of them had bagged on Day 1a already. As Bart Luyckx's stack of 29,200 is shorter than his day 1a stack of 32,200. His Day 1c stack has been taken out of play.

As there is limited space, the 206 Day 1a and Day 1b survivors will return tomorrow, Sunday, September 23, at 1 PM local time and play one level of 60 minutes. They will then be sent on a break for an hour while the 41 Day 1c survivors will commence their Day 2 at 2 PM local time. Once the first level has been played for both groups, they will combine to continue the battle into the money stages of the Main Event.

The chip counts of all remaining players and the seat draw for Day 2 will be posted as soon as PokerNews receives them from the organization. The live reporting team will be on the floor from the first ante that needs to be paid until the final chip has been bagged for Day 3 so make sure to follow all the updates right here!

Thi Nguyen raised to 3,300 from the lojack and the player on the button shoved with the bigger stack. Nguyen called for the 28,000 she had in front of her.

Button: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for Nguyen's queens to hold so she could double up.

The Final Flight, Day 1C, of the PKC Main Event Set to Start at 6 PM

At 6 pm local time, the last of the Poker King Cup Macau 2018 Main Event’s three starting flights, Day 1c, will be starting to provide players their last chance to make it through to Day 2. This is the turbo version of the starting days, meaning that blind levels will last 30 minutes each.

Day 1a attracted 166 entries of which 76 made it through to Day 2, Sunday, September 23, but players who aren’t satisfied with their current stacks can reenter to try and do better. Their biggest stack will go through and the smaller one will be removed out of play. Day 1b’s late registration period will close around 9:15 pm local time so the final numbers for that flight have not been determined yet.

Currently, it’s China’s Zhongcai Peng at the top of the Day 1a counts with 198,200 in chips, closely trailed by Hong Kong’s Winson Yau with 185,000. With 213 entries currently, it is highly possible that the Day 1b chip leader will be bagging even more by the end of the day.

The HK$16,500 buy-in will give players 30,000 in chips to start with. Day 1c will be playing eleven 30-minute levels with a 10-minute break after every four levels. The late registration and reentry period will close at the start of Level 11 which should be around 11:30 pm. Players who manage to find a bag to tag at the end of the day will return for Day 2, Sunday, September 23 at 1 pm local time.
