Erquiaga Wins Longest Hand of the Day

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In a pot that took over 10 minutes to play out, David Erquiaga has edged in front of Yu You Tsai in the chip counts. Both players spent so much time in the tank this hand that its a wonder the Taiwanese army has any heavy ordinance left.

It was a blind on blind battle between the two, with Tsai making it 80,000 to go in the small blind, and Erquiaga re-raising to 225,000. There was some thinking on Tsai's part before he made the call and the flop came down {7-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

After quite some time, both players elected to check. The {4-Hearts} turn saw Tsai check once more, and Erquiaga made a delayed continuation bet of 200,000. Tsai counted out the call, then sat back in his chair and thought some more. Eventually, Tsia made the call and the {a-Clubs} river completed the hand.

After a third check from Tsai, Erquiaga made it 300,000 to go. An ice age later, Tsai's hand hit the muck.

Yu You Ci Tsai Eliminated in 6th Place (TWD 328,600/$10,485)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The hand after the longest hand, Yu You Ci Tsai's final table came to a close. It was Ling He the man to light the fuse with a raise to 100,000 from mid-position, with Chou Chien Fa reraising to 300,000 from one seat over. Neighbor Tsai then moved all-in for 900,000 and after He folded, Fa asked for a count, then slammed down the calling chips.

Chou Chien Fa: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Yu You Ci Tsai: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

It was down to a race to decide Tsai's fate, and it was one he lost when the board ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Despite flirting with the chip lead briefly, Tsai's tournament is now over, and he departed in 6th place for a TWD 328,600 ($10,485) payday, while Fa extended his already sizable lead still further.

Lee Kuan Wee Eliminated in 5th Place (TWD 411,000/$13,115)

Chou Chien Fa is hitting hands at the right time and is now holding a commanding lead after sending Malaysia's Lee Kuan Wee to the rail almost immediately after ousting Yu You Ci Tsai.

It was Fa the man to raise first, making it 100,000 to go from late position, with Wee moving all-in from the blinds for the last of his chips, with Fa making a quick call.

Lee Kuan Wee: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Chou Chien Fa: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Wee was on his feet calling for the ace, but his pleas fell on deaf ears, with the board running out {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} to bring the final table down to four-handed.

Fa Turning the Screws

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

There have been four hands played since the break, and Chou Chien Fa has won three of them, with only one of the four making it to a flop but no further. Ling He was the only other player to win a hand, and he did so by moving all-in pre-flop for 675,000 and finding no customers.

Fa and He Chop

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

There have been another four hands played, with Chou Chien Fa winning two of them. David Erquiaga managed to win one of them after raising preflop from under-the-gun and firing on the {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop after Fa defended his big blind, then check-folding.

The other hand was a chop, with Ling He moving all-in for 630,000 on the button, and Fa asking for a count. The Taiwanese player has called everytime this has been the case, and this hand was no exception, with Fa tossing in a single blue 5k calling chip. David Erquiaga bowed out and both Fa and He revealed their hole cards.

Ling He: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Chou Chien Fa: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Both players hit two pair on the {8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop, with the hand completing with the {4-Spades} turn and {k-Hearts} river, with the pair divvying up the pot.

He Doubles Through Fa

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Chou Chein Fa has been pressuring the table with a barrage of pre-flop raises and has been taking down most pots preflop. There have been two exceptions to this trend. The first saw Fa fold the button and David Erquiaga move all-in from the small blind. Big blind Alex Lindop open folded {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

The next hand saw Fa back to raising, making it 125,000 to go from the cutoff, with Ling He moving all-in from the blinds. Fa made a quick call and the hands were turned over.

Ling He: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Chou Chien Fa: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

He was in great shape for a double, and had the hand all but locked up in the {5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop with the appearence of the case jack. The {2-Spades} turn guaranteed the Chinese player the double, and the river was a meaningless {10-Spades}.

Double for Lindop

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Chou Chien Fa is not getting it all going his way, doubling up the UK's Alex Lindop a couple of hands after doubling He.

It was Fa the man driving the action once again, raising the button and calling Lindop's big blind shove of 1.2 million.

Alex Lindop: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Chou Chien Fa: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The Taiwanese player is certainly hitting hands at the right time, but the key to success is also hitting flops, something Lindop did with aplomb on the {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop, improving to two pair on the {j-Clubs} turn and boating up on the {j-Hearts} river to earn a much needed double up.

Ling He Eliminated in 4th Place (TWD 547,500/$17,470)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Ling He
Ling He

Ling He's deep Main Event run has come to an end, though it was not the rampant Chou Chien Fa to show him the door, it was the Philippines David Erquiaga, who made it 125,000 to go under-the-gun, then called He's 860,000 small blind shove.

Ling He: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
David Erquiaga: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop saw Erquiaga remain in the lead, and the Filipino locked up the hand on the {9-Hearts} turn. the {8-Spades} river was merely a formality, and the Poker King Cup Taiwan Main Event is now down to three-handed, with Ling He taking home TWD 547,500 ($17,470) for his fourth-place finish.
