Nick Schulman Slipping

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Matt Hyman limped with the {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Nick Schulman checked his option with the {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Both players then checked the {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and the dealer burned and turned the {5-Spades}.

Schulman bet 200,000, Hyman called, and the {A-Hearts} river missed both players. Schulman checked and then folded when Hyman bet 570,000.

Matt Hyman Doubles for a Second Time

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Nick Schulman had Matt Hyman on the ropes, but once again he escaped elimination.

It happened when Schulman limped with the {a-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Hyman raised to 330,000 holding the {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Schulman responded by moving all in and Hyman opted to call off for 1.855 million.

Hyman was looking for some help, and he got it on the {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop. The {K-Hearts} turn left Schulman drawing dead, and he relinquished the chip lead after the {J-Diamonds} was run out on the river.

Great Turn Card for Nick Schulman

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Matt Hyman raised to 240,000 holding the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Nick Schulman just called with the {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

Schulman then check-called a bet of 250,000 on the {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop and hit the wheel on the {3-Spades} turn. Schulman checked, Hyman bet 500,000, and Schulman woke up with a check-raise to 1.5 million.

Hyman used a time extension before laying it down.

Daniel Negreanu Bets Big on Himself for the Poker Masters

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Daniel Negreanu was the first player of the Poker Masters to visit the payout desk after he finished in eighth place in Event #1 early Thursday morning for $102,000. It might not have been the finish he hoped for, but it also means he’s the first player on the leader board for the Poker Masters Purple Jacket™.

Chip Counts at the Break

Level 25 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

The final two players are now on a 10-minute break.

Nick Schulman Stays Alive

Level 25 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Matt Hyman opened with a raise and then called when Nick Schulman moved all in for 1.48 million.

Hyman: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Schulman: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop made things interesting as Schulman flopped top pair but Hyman had a pair and flush draw. Unfortunately for Hyman, he couldn't seal the deal as the {5-Hearts} bricked the turn followed by the {k-Clubs} on the river.

Matt Hyman Opening Up a Lead

Level 25 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Nick Schulman raised to 150,000 with the {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Matt Hyman called with the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The latter then check-called a bet of {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop and action repeated itself on the {6-Clubs} turn.

Both players then checked the {8-Clubs} river and Hyman won the pot.

Back and Forth

Level 25 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Nick Schulman won a couple pots to reclaim the chip lead, but he just lost a couple to give it back to Matt Hyman. In fact, the counts are right where they were when Hyman spiked the two outer to double.

In a recent hand, there was 560,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}{q-Clubs} when Hyman, who held the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, coyly checked his rivered straight and Schulman, who had the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} in the hole, bet 450,000. Hyman opted to just call and took down the pot.
