Holz vs Hellmuth: Round 2

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Phil Hellmuth raised to 34,000 from early position and Fedor Holz called from the button. The dealer fanned the flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Hellmuth checked. Holz bet 30,000 and Hellmuth called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {8-Hearts} on the river.

Hellmuth checked again and Holz made a huge over-bet of 196,000. "How do you get away with this one?" Hellmuth started saying as he folded his hand. Hellmuth continued to rant but it seemed as though he was talking to himself because nobody at the table acknowledged him.

Hellmuth Lays One Down

Level 17 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Fedor Holz raised to 32,000 from middle position and Phil Hellmuth called from the big blind. The flop was {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Hellmuth check-called a bet of 22,000 from Holz.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Hellmuth checked again. Holz fired 45,000 and Hellmuth stuck around.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board and Hellmuth checked for the third time. Holz continued with a bet of 160,000. Hellmuth finally mucked his hand after flashing {a-}{k-} and spewing some words.

"I was supposed to double you up, Fedor. But I'm f***ing Phil Hellmuth. I'm the best hold'em player!"

Steffen Sontheimer raised to 32,000 from early position and Phil Hellmuth three-bet to 62,000 directly to his left. The action folded back around to Sontheimer who made the call. The flop came {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} and both players checked to the {8-Diamonds} on the turn.

Sontheimer led out for 55,000 and Hellmuth called. The river was the {10-Hearts} and Sontheimer barrelled again for 115,000. Hellmuth snapped him off and Sontheimer announced ace-high. Hellmuth tabled {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and quickly started scooping the pot. Hellmuth stacked his chips in silence but that might not last for long.

Top Pair for Hellmuth

Level 16 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Steffen Sontheimer opened to 32,000 from the hijack and Phil Hellmuth called next to speak in the cutoff.

Erik Seidel defended his big blind and checked the {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, as did Sontheimer, before Hellmuth bet 43,000.

Seidel and Sontheimer quickly folded, and Hellmuth tabled his {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for top pair after shoving all in the previous hand over a Bryn Kenney open with {A-}{K-}.

Hellmuth is now over 600,000 in chips; good for fourth overall.
