Young Gets Lucky Double on Patgorski

Level 1 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Brian Green called first to act, as did Gabe Patgorski from the hijack. In the cutoff, Justin Young raised to 10,000, and as action folded back to Patgorski, he shoved for 108,000 and Young called all in for 96,000.

Patgorski: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Young: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Young spiked a double on the turn.

Dempsey Takes from Nitsche

Level 1 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

David Peters called first to act, and Jason Koon called in the hijack. From the cutoff, Dominik Nitsche raised to 15,000 and Sean Dempsey called on the button as Peters and Koon folded.

The {6-Hearts}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop checked round to see the {Q-Spades} fall on the turn.

Nitsche checked, Dempsey bet 20,000, and Nitsche folded.

Peters Over Koon

Level 1 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

David Peters bet 7,000 from the cutoff on {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Jason Koon made it 18,000. Peters called and the river was the {6-Clubs}. Koon checked and Peters tanked for nearly his whole time before checking back.

Koon showed {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a set but Peters had {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a straight.

Straights Over Straight

Level 1 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}, David Eldridge was all in for his last 40,000 holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} while Gabe Patgorski was all in for 56,000 with {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Both players had flopped the nut straight and Justin Young held the second straight with {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and had both players covered.

The turn and river landed the {7-Clubs} and {8-Diamonds}, and Eldridge and Patgorski both increased their stack.

Aces Hold for Peters

Level 1 : 0/0, 1,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Dominik Nitsche called first to act, as did Sean Dempsey after him. David Peters raised to 13,000 and Bill Klein made it 40,000 to go from the cutoff.

Nitsche shoved for 100,000, and once Dempsey folded, Peters moved all in for 134,000. Klein used a time extension chip, and then called.

Nitsche: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Peters: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Klein: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Peters scooped the monster pot as both Nitsche and Klein asked for a 100,000-chip add-on.

Experimenting With Raise Sizes

Level 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Justin Ligeri raised over some limps to 20,000 on the button and won the pot.

The next hand, he made it 15,000 and everyone folded once more.

"I'm going to try different raises until I get some action," he said with a laugh.

A few hands later, Justin Bonomo made it 10,000 to go and Ligeri called. On the {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} flop, Ligeri check-folded to a continuation-bet.

It seems maybe 10,000 is the threshold for action at that table, at least for these few hands.

Robl and Aldemir Chop

Level 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante

Koray Aldemir raised to 11,000 in the cutoff and Andrew Robl called on the button.

Aldemir checked the {9-Clubs}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop as Robl bet 9,000. Aldemir check-raised to 60,000, and Robl put Aldemir in for his 64,000 total and the German obliged with a call.

Aldemir: {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Robl: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The turn and river fell the {K-Diamonds} and {7-} and the pot was chopped up.

Ligeri Forces Bonomo to Add On

Level 2 : 0/0, 1,000 ante
Justin Ligeri
Justin Ligeri

Justin Ligeri opened for 6,000 first to act and Justin Bonomo moved all in for 85,000 in the cutoff. Ligeri slid in calling chips after some thought.

Bonomo: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Ligeri: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Ligeri nailed a set on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} runout, fading the backdoor chop outs. Bonomo used his first add-on and Ligeri got an equities lesson after the hand as they discussed his call. He asked if Bonomo was a favorite and everyone affirmed he was.

"There's no hand that doesn't have you dominated preflop," Cary Katz said.
