Peters and Imsirovic Need Time

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters opened for 5,000 and Ali Imsirovic made it 20,000 on the button. Peters called and they checked to the turn, bringing a community of {7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Peters bet 34,000 and Imsirovic called. On the {8-Diamonds} river, Peters tanked and then bet 145,000 at the 90-second mark after using an extension. Imsirovic needed his own time extension but announced a fold seconds before he'd be committed for a second.

Discussions Between the Players

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The final nine players have had discussions revolving around an attempted nine-way chop - albeit jokingly - while also more seriously ending play early for Day 1.

With the tournament set as a three-day event, it has been brought to the attention of the ARIA Poker staff. Tournament Director Paul Campbell explained to the players that if play does reach eight-handed play, there will be a more serious discussion about whether or not play should be paused to protect the integrity of the tournament.

Until then, play will continue.

Straight for Bonomo

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the turn with the board reading {5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and 11,000 in the middle, Justin Bonomo led out for 9,000 from the big blind before Dominik Nitsche raised to 30,000 from the button.

Bonomo called, and both players then checked the {7-Clubs} on the river.

Bonomo tabled his {6-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a straight, and Nitsche mucked.
