Leonard Hermann Eliminated in 5th Place (€7,270)

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Maximilian Silz
Maximilian Silz

Leonard Hermann min-raised the button to 200,000 and was called by Maximilian Silz from the big blind.

Silz check-raised the {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop from 200,000 to 675,000 and Hermann called. The {q-Spades} followed on the turn and Silz jammed for 2,500,000. Hermann called off for 1,300,000 and players turned over their cards.

Leonard Hermann: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Maximilian Silz: {9-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Hermann flopped both the top pair and a flush draw and added an open-ended straight draw on the turn. It was more or a less a coin-flip situation for Hermann with one card to come against the two pair held by Silz.

The {4-Clubs} river didn't complete any of Hermann's draws and he was eliminated in fifth place for €7,270.

Meanwhile, Silz has extended his chip lead and had more than double the chips of his nearest competitor in Tim Van Loo with four players remaining.

Maximilian Silz opened for 200,000 from under the gun with {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and was called by Leonard Hermann with {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Tim Van Loo with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} from the blinds.

Hermann and Van Loo checked the {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. Silz continued for with a min-bet of 80,000, which was enough to take down the pot with both of his opponents opting to fold.

Silz took the chip lead after winning the hand.

Baier Freerolling the Main Event

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Alexander Baier
Alexander Baier

Regardless of where things end up for Day 2 chip leader Alexander Baier, he should be pleased with the journey as his entry was a freeroll on top of another freeroll.

Baier won a three-month subscription via a cash promo via Pokercode Coach Steffen Sontheimer. He then won a package via a second promo via Pokercode MTT Coach Simon Rønnow made available to the Pokercode's Slack community.

Baier is a student and had little money to his name coming into the trip. He was even worried about how to pay for his parking ticket in Bratislava. So although it would a zero to hero story if Baier wins, it is still a healthy boost to the German's bankroll regardless of how things end up.

Filip Jurga jammed for 485,000 from under the gun and was called by Leonard Hermann from the button.

Filip Jurga: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Leonard Hermann: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Fours were unable to get ahead of aces on the {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Spades} board and Jurga was eliminated in seventh place for €4,805.

Meanwhile, Hermann took the chip lead for the first time at the final table.

Bernhauser Doubles with Jacks

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Fabian Bernhauser
Fabian Bernhauser

Maximilian Silz opened for 120,000 from the button with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Fabian Bernhauser three-bet jammed for 470,000 from the small blind with {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Alexander Baier four-bet shoved for 3,300,000 from the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Silz folded.

The {6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} board would have given Silz the winning hand if he called off his stack to Baier's jam. Instead, Bernhauser's fishhooks were good and he doubled his stack.

Fabian Bernhauser
Fabian Bernhauser

Alexander Baier min-raised from under the gun with {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and was called by Fabian Bernhauser from the small blind with {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and by Maximilian Silz with {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} from the big blind.

Both the {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop and {7-Diamonds} turn checked around. The {3-Clubs} river paired the board to give Bernhauser trips. Silz led out for 350,000. The commentators were shocked after Bernhauser folded and Silz won the pot after Baier folded as well.

Konstantin Hammermueller
Konstantin Hammermueller

Tim Van Loo min-raised to 80,000 from under the gun. Konstantin Hammermueller jammed for 995,000 from the hijack and Van Loo snap-called.

Konstantin Hammermueller: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Tim Van Loo: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts} gave Hammermueller top pair but this wasn't enough to beat the set of rockets held by Van Loo. Hammermueller collected €3,785 for his eighth-place performance, while Van Loo held an above-average stack after the hand.
