Gowen Doubles Through Jeffreys

Gowen: gets some chips off Jeffreys
Gowen: gets some chips off Jeffreys
Clonie Gowen has doubled up to 64,000 courtesy of Andrew Jeffreys after getting her money into the middle preflop holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, finding herself ahead of Jeffreys' {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The flop of {J-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Hearts} gave Jeffreys a few more outs but Gowen sealed the deal with the turn bringing the {K-Hearts} for the nut flush.

The river {7-Hearts} completed the board; Jeffreys slips back to 62,000.

Bernard "Runs So Bad"

Bernard: a chop is better than nothing!
Bernard: a chop is better than nothing!
Alfred Grech raised it up to 3,500 from middle position preflop, only to find PokerNews reporter James Bernard call from the button and Jamie Glazier make up the difference in the small blind.

It was three-way action into a flop of {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}; Grech led out for 8,000, Bernard flat-called and Glazier got out of the way as the turn came down {4-Clubs}.

Grech moved the last of his stack into the middle and Bernard snap-called.

Bernard: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Grech: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Bernard was well ahead with his set against Grech's overpair, but the {5-Clubs} spiked on the river to complete a straight on the board and chop the pot!

"I run so bad," Bernard sighed as the dealer shipped over his dividend.

Chris Chronis Eliminated

Nick Haidaris opened to 3,500 and found a call in the small blind in Bruce Nguyen, before Chris Chronis squeezed all in from the big blind for around 33,000 chips. Haidaris then announced he was all in for a little more as Nguyen sighed and released (what he later said was pocket nines).

Chronis: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Haidaris: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades} to make Haidaris the nut flush to more than double up and leave Chronis crippled with just 1,300.

There was no comeback for Chronis as a few moments later he ran his last chips into the quad kings of Bruce Nguyen and was sent to the rail.

It's All Gao

A short-stacked Trung Tran moved all in from the cutoff position and Jai Gao looked him up in the small blind.

Tran tabled {A-Diamonds}{4-Spades} but trailed the {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} of Gao. Tran needed to find an ace to improve but it wasn't to be on the {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board to send Tran to the exit. Meanwhile Gao has started well today and now sits with 110,000 chips.

Dong: takes a hit, but it's no biggie

'Dong' takes a hit, but remains cool, calm and collected, down to 194,000 in chips.

Must Be Nice

Ben Savage on fire!
Ben Savage on fire!
It must be nice to be Ben Savage this week. With multiple final tables and one trophy already in the bag, Savage is off to a great start today thanks to a recent hand where he flopped the nuts against three opponents.

Savage was the preflop aggressor, as he made it 3,200 to play with three callers seeing the {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Play checked through to a late position player who fired 3,600. Robert Wang the announced a raise on the button to 15,000 to force a fold from Sean Keeton in the small blind.

The action was back with Savage who was singing the Grand Alleluia Chorus in his head as he held {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. He decided another raise was in order as he made it 35,000 to go, but unfortunately for him both opponents laid down their cards as Savage flashed the goods. he moves up to 123,000 chips.

Delaney Donates

Delaney: a minor inconvenience
Delaney: a minor inconvenience
It was heads up between Ben 'CNT_CRUSHER' Delaney and an opponent on the button on a flop that read {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

Delaney opened for 4,000 and the button called. Delaney then checked to him after the turn produced the {9-Hearts}.

The button fired out 11,000, Delaney raised to 25,000 but the opponent insta-shoved over the top. After some consideration Delaney laid it down.

Delaney is still sitting pretty, currently on 140,000 in chips after that bump in the road.

Karamalikis Claims Another

With a raise to 6,000 in front of him, Jonathan "xMONSTERxDONGx" Karamalikis made it 15,000 to play from the cutoff. The table folded back to the original raisor who made the call.

It's a tough ask to play the best online players out of position, but Karamalikis' opponent quickly negated any positional disadvantage by shoving all in for 34,500 at the {2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. However it backfired as Karamalikis called and tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the best hand as his opponent revealed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and river the {7-Diamonds} and Karamalikis sends another opponent to the rail to storm up to 241,000 chips.
