With Con Tsapkounis tabling his winning full house, the 2009 PokerNews Cup Main Event has come to a finish.

In all 381 players came to the felt, creating a prizepool of AU$762,000. Tsapkounis rose above them all to capture the lion's share of the prize money and the PokerNews Cup trophy.

Not bad at all for a guy who prefers to play Omaha.

Con Tsapkounis has won the 2009 PokerNews Cup Main Event after defeating Joe Cabret heads up.

On the final hand of the tournament Cabret opened the button to 250,000 with Tsapkounis calling. They took a {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop.

Tsapkounis took up the aggression on the flop firing 350,000. Cabret flat called.

The turn {5-Clubs} saw Cabret smooth-call another Tsapkounis bet, this time for 450,000 chips.

On the river {5-Diamonds} Tsapkounis led 800,000 and Cabret went into the tank before coming over the top all in. Tsapkounis made the call tabling {4-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a full house to beat out Cabret's {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Things are pretty even again with Tsapkounis turning the Cabret tide and taking a pot of his own.

Preflop, Cabret opened the button to 200,000 and Tsapkounis made the call. They took a {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop. Tsapkounis came out fighting betting 250,000. Cabret flat called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Tsapkounis fired 350,000. Cabret flatted again. On the river {2-Diamonds} Tsapkounis fired 800,000 and Cabret laid his hand down.

The chip stacks are even.

Tsapkounis limped the button and Cabret checked. They took a {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. Cabret fired 200,000 and Tsapkounis made the call.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and Cabret made it 500,000, with Tsapkounis again flat calling. The {8-Diamonds} hit the river and Cabret moved in for 2,800,000. This forced a fold from Tsapkounis.

A hand later Cabret opened the button to 200,000 and Tsapkounis made the call. They took a {K-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop. Tsapkounis checked, Cabret bet 200,000 and his opponent made the fold.

Joe Cabret has 4,400,000 in chips.

On the river Tsapkounis bet out 350,000 and Cabret called. Tsapkounis tabled {3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered two pair to trump Cabret's {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} pair.

They took a {7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop and Cabret checked to Booth who moved all in. Cabret made the call tabling {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Booth rolled over {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a gutshot straight draw and two overcards to Cabret's pair.

The {j-Diamonds} hit the turn and the {k-Spades} hit the river to send Booth to the rail in third place.
