Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
PokerNews Cup Banner
PokerNews Cup Banner

With the time here at King's Casino in Rozvadov just ticking past 5p.m., the fourth and final flight of the PokerNews Cup has gotten underway. Day 1D already has 31 players registered, but expect that to grow with 11 levels of late registration available to anyone looking to grab a place in Day 2.

However, with 1C not even halfway done, we will be continuing the live updates here until its conclusion. We will then move over to Flight 1D and follow that to its conclusion as well.

Good luck to all players remaining in both flights!

Taller Takes from Brazauskaite

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

With almost 10,000 in the middle and the board showing {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Ema Brazauskaite checked in the small blind and Vadim Taller in the big blind bet 8,400. Brazauskaite had slightly more than that and called, then mucked when she was shown {J-Spades}{4-Spades}.

According to Johan Groot, Taller has been betting the pot most of the time to build his stack and joined the chip leaders.

Roman Cieslik vs Kim Germer

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Roman Cieslik raised to 1,500 from under the gun. The player in the cutoff called, as did both the blinds. Cieslik marvelled in such fourway action as the flop came {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. It checked to him and he continued for 2,000.

Kim Germer was the player in the small blind and he called.

"What are you doing?" asked Cieslik in German, "From the small blind!"

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and both players checked. The two players checked the {8-Clubs} river and Germer turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for the winner.

"Kicker problems?" asked Cieslik's tablemate.

"Ja," replied Cieslik, "Kicker problems(!)"

Radomski Off to the Next Bullet

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Karol Radomski
Karol Radomski

Karol Radomski was all in and at risk for his last 16,600 on a flop of {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} and was called by Gintautas Strioga only while a third player in the hand folded.

Radomski had {6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for the flopped straight and Strioga the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. The {7-Diamonds} turn and {7-Spades} river improved the Lithuanian to a full house and Radomski headed straight to the cashier to purchase the re-entry.

Setback for Ciakas; Van De Linde Thriving

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

In an already big pot, Deividas Ciakas called the shove of the big blind on the river {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for 9,000 still and was shown {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Ciakas flashed pocket eights for the inferior full house and dropped some chips.

Roland Van De Linde however is doing much better and just confirmed that he boosted his stack to more than 100,000. The Dutchman had flopped top pair and top kicker with ace-king and an opponent mucked a king before leaving the table.

Linkius Doubles a Lithuanian

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Sarunas Linkius had been very active on his table and three-bet a lot of hands to build his stack. Just now he did so again before havving to call off the shove of a fellow Lithuanian for little more. Linkius showed {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and faced the {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} of the big blind.

The board came {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Linkius took a small hit to his stack for 12 big blinds.

Below are further updated counts of current players on Day 1c.
