PokerNews Cup Kulata
PokerNews Cup Kulata

Welcome to Day 1b of the PokerNews Cup Main Event at Finix Casino. The action kicks off at 4 p.m. EEST.

Players will be competing for at least a share of €100,000 guaranteed for a €550 buy-in or less if they qualified online or through one of the many €60 live satellites running at Finix Casino.

There will be plenty of opportunities for players to build a monster stack starting off with 50,000 in chips and unlimited reentries permitted during each of the four opening flights on May 15-17. The first three flights, including today's Day 1b, feature 30-minute blind levels while the final opening flight is a turbo affair with 15-minute blind levels.

The action for each opening flight continues until just 15 percent of the field remains, at which time all players will already be in the money. Players that successfully bag chips on Day 1 will battle it out in a deeper structure of 40-minute blind levels on May 18-19 until is crowned.

Here is a look at today's structure with breaks taking place after every four blind levels.

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Georgi Ignatov
Georgi Ignatov

Georgi Ignatov bet 800 into a pot of a little more after the {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} came on the flop. Andreas Chalkidakis raised to 4,500 before Ignatov three-bet to 8,500. Chalkidakis four-bet jammed for around 59,000 and Ignatov who was slightly covered made the call.

Andreas Chalkidakis: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}
Georgi Ignatov: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Ignatov was in the lead with trips and needed to fade a flush draw from his opponent. The {j-Hearts} on the turn was a safe card for the Bulgarian. However, he was the first player sent to the rail on Day 1b after the {k-Spades} spiked the river to give Chalkidakis a flush,

"Yes!" Pavlov said when he saw his tens dominated his opponent's fours.

Georgios Efthymiadis
Georgios Efthymiadis

Rosen Simeonov has almost one-third of the chips in play. Some of which came at the hands of Georgios Efthymiadis who is now on the rail.

Simeonov bet 15,000 into a pot of around 20,000 with the {5-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} before he called off a jam from Efthymiadis for almost 50,000.

Efthymiadis turned over {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for second pair, while Simeonov was drawing to two overcards and a gutshot straight draw with {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The {q-Hearts} completed the board on the river to give Simeonov a better pair than his opponent to win the hand.

Hristo Bogdanov jammed for 30,000 from under the gun. Nikolaos Pomonis called off for slightly less from the hijack before Christos Kechagias called from the button.

Hristo Bogdanov: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Nikolaos Pomonis: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Christos Kechagias: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Diyan Stanev
Diyan Stanev

Vasileios Gkogkas opened from under the gun for 14,000 before Diyan Stanev jammed for about 70,000. Gkogkas tanked for about 90 seconds before he called.

Diyan Stanev: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Vasileios Gkogkas: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The race was on but Stanev got up from his seat when he saw he was drawing thin after his opponent paired the {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop. Stanev left the poker room after the {6-Clubs} on the turn and the {q-Hearts} on the river were unable to get him back into the hand.

The action is on the bubble for the day with five players advancing to Day 2 in the money.
