Welcome to Day 2 of the PokerNews Cup Kulata €550 Main Event at Finix Casino.

The first four opening flights attracted a field of 141 entrants. The field has been trimmed down to just 24 hopefuls battling it to become the 13th Main Event champion in PokerNews Cup history.

The remaining two dozen, who are all from Bulgaria and Greece, will begin the day armed with the knowledge they are already in the money. The payouts and of course the big top prize will be announced at the beginning part of the day.

Day 1b chip leader Rosen Simeonov with 640,000 and Day 1c chip leader Panagiotis Panagiotidis with 636,000 head into Day 2 neck and neck in the lead. Other players with big stacks include Day 1a chip leader Marian Ivanov with 580,000, Day 1d and PokerNews Cup High Roller winner Dimitrios Michailidis with 510,000 and his brother Spyridon Michailidis with 474,000.

As an interesting twist, the Michailidis brothers are sitting side by side at Table 3 after the random seat draw took place at the end of the final opening flight last night.

Bogdanov Doublees

Hristo Bogdanov
Hristo Bogdanov

Rosen Simeonov bet 22,000 into a pot of around 38,000 with the {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} on the board. Hristo Bogdanov jammed for 93,000.

Simeonov asked for a chip count and then quickly called. Both players had top pair but Bogdanov had a better kicker with {k-Clubs}{10-Spades} to his opponent's {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

The {j-Spades} completed the board on the river and Bogdanov found a double.

Chalkiadakis Out with Aces

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Andreas Chalkiadakis
Andreas Chalkiadakis

Rough beat for Andreas Chalkiadakis. He got it all in for about 50 big blinds with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} against Panagiotis Panagiotidis with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

The {4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop was safe for Chalkiadakis as was the {7-Spades} on the turn. Chalkiadakis yelled out a big scream of pain as his opponent hit a full house when the {k-Clubs} spiked the river and immediately ran out of the poker room.

The remaining 20 players are now each guaranteed a payout of €1,170.

Orfanidou Hits the Rail

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Christina Orfanidou
Christina Orfanidou

Spyridon Michailidis opened for 20,000. Christina Orfanidou jammed from the small blind for 24,000 before Panagiotis Panagiotidis raised to 105,000 from the big blind. Michailidis folded and Orfanidou began to laugh when the cards turned over.

Christina Orfanidou: {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Panagiotis Panagiotidis: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} board gave Orfanidou a triple up but her stack didn't last long.

On the very next hand, Dimitrios Michailidis opened for 20,000. Orfanidou jammed for less than 10 big blinds before Panagiotidis over-jammed for 856,000.

Michailidis asked for a chip count before he folded. This time Orfanidou's laugh sounded also a little bit like a cry for help.

Christina Orfanidou: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Panagiotis Panagiotidis: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop didn't help Orfanidou and she was drawing dead after the {3-Clubs} came on the turn. The {j-Spades} completed the board on the river and Christina Orfanidou was eliminated in 18th place for €1,170.

The action will redraw down to two tables after one more elimination.
