Astapau and Mateos Eliminated

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

We're still five places from the money, but the action feels a lot close as just 14 players remain in the $50,000 Single Day High Roller event.

That's because we lost two players in quick succession. First, Anton Astapau was all-in from the big blind over the raise by Oleksii Khoroshenin. Astapau didn't even have two live cars when he was called, flipping over {Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and seeing that he was up against Khoroshenin's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The board of {10-Spades}{A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} sent him home without much of a sweat in 16th place.

Next, we lost Adrian Mateos in 15th when his move with {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} was dominated by the call from Bryn Kenney's {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The queen was the first card out and nothing improved for Mateos when the board played out {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The Spaniard joins the rail.

Luca Busts Petrangelo

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Ivan Luca first tangled in a pot against Nick Petrangelo and took some chips from him, and finished the job the next hand.

Petrangelo shoved for his last 151,000 from the hijack with {Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Luca called from the small blind with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and won the hand after the board came {J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Petrangelo out, Luca almost doubled.
