Leo Fernandez Hits the Flop

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

A short-stacked Leo Fernandez moved all in under the gun for 118,000 and action folded all the way around to Igor Kurganov, who called from the big blind.

Kurganov: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Fernandez: {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Fernandez needed some help and he got it on the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop. A ten would still give Kurganov a straight, but that was not meant to be as the {2-Spades} bricked on the turn followed by the {A-Clubs} on the river.

Paul Newey Eliminated

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Paul Newey
Paul Newey

Paul Newey was hanging in there short stacked for quite some time, but just now he found his faith in an unlucky river card. Erik Seidel (small blind) and big blind (Paul Newey) got their chips in the middle before the flop.

Newey had the dominating hand with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} but would get rivered by Seidel's {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. The board ran out {5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Newey made his exit.

Koray Aldemir Ships Two Doubles

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Koray Aldemir moved all in for 115,000 from the cutoff and Erik Seidel called from the button.

Aldemir: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Seidel: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out a clean {8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Aldemir shipped his first double.

Not long after on a {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Aldemir checked and Oliver Weis tossed out a bet. Aldemir then check-raised all in for 224,000 and Weis called.

Aldemir: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Weis: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Aldemir had the best kicker and it held through the {7-Spades} turn and {K-Spades} river.

Seidel Finishes the Job

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Dan Colman doubled up once, but in the end, it wasn't enough. Down to around 40,000 again, he shoved from the cutoff. Big blind Erik Seidel called with {9-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and Colman turned over {K-Spades}{5-Spades}.

The {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop favored Seidel but the {10-Spades} on the turn gave Colman a flush draw. The {9-Diamonds} on the river, however, was a blank and Colman hit the rail.

Cooler Flop Gives Chidwick a Double

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

When we got to the table, there was 261,000 already pulled into the pot and a flop of {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. The action escaped us, but we do know that Stephen Chidwick got his stack of 209,000 all in against Igor Kurganov.

Kurganov: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Chidwick: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

It was a cooler flop as Kurganov flopped two pair only to run into Chidwick's set. Neither the {7-Diamonds} turn nor {2-Spades} river was the king Kurganov needed and he sent over the vast majority of his stack to Chidwick.
