Ryan Riess Continues to Build
Level 5
: 200/400, 50 ante
We've seen 2013 WSOP champ Ryan Riess steadily chip up here on Day 1a, and one of the tools he's using to do it is the good old check-raise.
In a recent hand, the under-the-gun player opened for 1,000 and Russia's Roman Korenev called from the small blind. Riess came along from the big and then both blinds checked the ![]()

flop.
The original raiser continued for 1,700, Korenev called, and that is when Riess check-raised to 7,000. That did the trick as both his opponents folded.
