Poor Start for Cody

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

Jake Cody isn't exactly off to the races, as he has less than one-third of the starting stack after dropping a recent pot.

He was already down to 20,000 or so when he opened on button for 800 and James Salmon defended his big blind. Salmon came out betting with 1,250 on the {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, and Cody called. Salmon fired again for 2,700 on the {7-Clubs} turn, and Cody again called. On the {a-Spades} river, Salmon checked. Cody bet 2,400 and Salmon thought briefly before calling.

The PokerStars Team Pro turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a straight but had to muck that upon seeing Salmon held {5-Spades}{2-Spades} for a flopped straight and a rivered flush.
