JC Alvarado Cripples Voje

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Erling Voje (hijack) was the initial raiser in a three-way hand that also involved Benjamin Pollak (small blind) and JC Alvarado (small blind).

On a flop of {2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Alvarado checked. Voje bet 3,400 and Pollak called before Alvarado squeezed to 10,500. Voje called, Pollak folded.

The {J-Spades} hit the turn and Alvarado bet 12,000. Again Voje called.

As the {3-Spades} completed the board, Alvarado bet 27,000, leaving himself just 2,700 behind. Voje thought about it for a bit before he called. Alvarado showed {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the flopped full house and Voje mucked.

The next hand, Voje shoved his last 15,100 with ace-king. His neighbor called with pocket queens and the board would not display a Broadway card or any other help for Voje.

Abdellatif Eliminates Miranda

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jonathan Abdellatif shoved all in from early position on the river with a board of {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} on the felt. Amilcar Miranda thought a couple of minutes and then called off for about 24,000, a hair under the size of the pot. Abdellatif showed {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and Miranda couldn't beat it.

2014 WSOP Main Event Drowned on the River

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

2014 WSOP Main Event champ Martin Jacobson got his last 43,000 or so all in preflop and found himself at risk against Canada's Anthony Diotte.

Diotte: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Jacobson needed some help and got some when the {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop paired his ace. The {7-Hearts} turn meant Jacobson just needed to dodge a king on the river, but that proved easier said than done as the {K-Diamonds} spiked to put an end to his day.

Aleks Dimitrov: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Ryan Riess: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Riess departed.

Ortiz Beats Two

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

A player in the big blind had a reraise to 7,600 in front of him when we got to Tito Ortiz's table, and the MMA fighter called. Another player on the button came along to see a {4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop. The big blind bet 5,500 and both Ortiz and the player on the button called. Everyone checked the {4-Hearts}, and the big blind bet another 5,500 on the {q-Spades} river. Ortiz called, as did the player on the button.

Ortiz was first to show: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Everyone else mucked.

Panama's Ajitkumar Nagrani Gets Lucky to Make a Wheel

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Action folded to Panama's Ajitkumar Nagrani in the small blind and he jammed for his last 8,000. Luis Alejandro Mata called from the big blind and Nagrani discovered the bad news.

Mata: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Nagrani: {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Nagrani was knocking on elimination's door, but he was granted a reprieve after the board ran out {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} to give him a Wheel on the river.

Seidel Slides Out the Door

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Action folded around to Daniel Dvoress in late position and he raised to 2,000.

Michael Lech was in the hijack and three-bet to 6,600. Erik Seidel, who registered at the start of play today, moved all in for 35,100 on the button.

Dvoress briefly thought about it and opted to fold. Lech took a quick look back at his cards and called.

Lech: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Seidel: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

In a classic race, Seidel was unable to catch up as the board ran out {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades} and was eliminated.
