No Luck for the Irishman: O'Dwyer Eliminated

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Alexandre Viard was under the gun and moved all in for 60,500. Aleks Dimitrov was in the next position and called.

Action folded around to Steve O'Dwyer in the small blind and he moved all in for just shy of 200,000. Dimitrov asked for a count and eventually called.

Viard: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Dimitrov: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
O'Dwyer: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Viard and O'Dwyer were both at risk to be eliminated, and Viard needing major help with just two sevens left in the deck.

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. Viard rivered a seven to stay alive and queens were good for Dimitrov on the side, eliminating O'Dwyer.

Nasty Finish for Gruber

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Lucas Blanco opened early and called the shove of Adrian Gruber, who had about 50,000 in the small blind.

Blanco: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Gruber: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Gruber was ahead, but Blanco picked up outs when {10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flopped. The {k-Diamonds} turn closed some of those off as Gruber snagged a flush draw to add to his pair, but the {j-Hearts} river caused someone at the table to whistle at the sick ending.

Mikhail Zamyatin Drowned on the River

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Mikhail Zamyatin
Mikhail Zamyatin

Mikhail Zamyatin raised to 12,000 under the gun and Igor Yaroshevskyy three-bet to 30,000 one spot over. James Salmon, who was to his left, then four-bet all in for 137,500. Zamyatin called off for 131,500 and Yaroshevskyy got out of the way.

Zamyatin:{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Salmon: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

It was a classic flip and Zamyatin needed to hold to stay alive. He maintained the lead on both the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop and {9-Clubs} turn, but then disaster struck when the {K-Hearts} spiked on the river to give Salmon the win.

Samuel Gagnon Doubles Through the Chip Leader

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

A short-stacked Samuel Gagnon got his last 33,000 all in from the hijack and Igor Yaroshevskyy, who had chips to spare, called from the big blind.

Gagnon: {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Yaroshevskyy: {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Gagnon got it in good, but he had to dodge a lot of cads when the flop came down {3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to give Yaroshevskyy an open-ended straight draw. The {10-Hearts} turn was no harm to Gagnon, and neither was the {K-Spades} river.

Dmitry Ponomarev Can't Win a Flip

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Dmitry Ponomarev got his remaining 95,000 chips in the middle with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and was called by Robin Luca Wozniczek with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

In a classic race, Ponomarev was unable to dodge six outs when an ace showed up in the window on a flop of {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the river was the {6-Spades}, sending Ponomarev home.
