Fast Eliminated; Kurganov Decimated

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Dietrich Fast won't be able re-enter anymore after busting his second bullet. Fast limped in from the small blind and faced the likes of Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. On the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} turn, Fast check-called a bet of 3,000 with 7,700 behind and then checked the {2-Diamonds} river.

Negreanu bet enough to give Fast all but two opponents and the German eventually called it off for less than eight big blinds. Negreanu flipped over {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for two pair, and Fast mucked the {10-Spades}{4-Hearts} for third pair.

One table over, Scott Margereson and Igor Kurganov got into a raising war in a battle button versus small blind. Margereson ended up as the player at risk for 40,800 with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Kurganov flipped over the inferior {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. There was no surprise on the {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board and Kurganov was left short in chips.
