Schemion and Dayan Double

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Ole Schemion got his short stack in with the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} from the button and Govert Metaal called in the small blind with {A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Other players on the table were joking if Schemion would be a huge favorite to win the hand, and the German indeed got there on a board of {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Metaal played along with the game and joked "I made the right call, but it's impossible to beat Ole."

David Dayan was even shorter and shoved for just 6,300. Dejan Pustoslemsek called in the big blind with the {K-Spades}{3-Spades} and Dayan's {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} scored a flush on a board of {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Negreanu's intentions are clear; he's chip leader in the €25K HR at PokerStars Championship presented by Monte-Carlo Casino®

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu doesn't do anything by halves. From his 100% vegan diet and his recent transformation into a gym body, to his podcast and YouTube channel, and his work ethic as one of poker's greatest ambassadors.

Notice I've left the game of poker itself off that list. That's because why should I tell you how much effort and preparation Kid Poker puts into his game when he can tell you himself?

A Day to Forget for Tedeschi

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After busting out of the Main Event late yesterday, Paul-Francois Tedeschi jumped into the High Roller and then lost a massive pot with aces against the tens of Robert Heidorn, as the German spiked a ten on the flop. And another German just took his remaining chips as confirmed by Tedeschi and Maxi Lehmanski.

Tedeschi defended his big blind with {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and flopped a full house on {K-}{6-}{6-}. Tedeschi check-raised Lehmanski's bet of 1,600 to 8,000 and was called before a {10-} turn was checked through. After the {4-} river, Tedeschi bet 9,000, Lehmanski raised to 25,000 and then called the shove for 45,000 with pocket tens for the superior full house.

Haxton Doubles Through Kolonias

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Alexandros Kolonias, who finished runner-up to Alexandru Papazian one year ago in this very tournament for a payday of € 805,900, just suffered a setback after Isaac Haxton doubled through him.

A reraise to 12,000 was in front of Kolonias before the action reached Haxton in the small blind. The American poker pro shoved for 31,100 and Kolonias was the only caller.

Isaac Haxton: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Alexandros Kolonias: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Both players flopped a set on the board of {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Haxton doubled.

Simao Finishes Off Khoroshenin

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Oleksii Khoroshenin
Oleksii Khoroshenin

Wow!

After tangling all day long, Joao Simao and Oleksii Khoroshenin played the biggest pot so far that launched Simao to a monster chip lead and forced start-of-the-day Khoroshenin to the rail before the late registration period even ended!

The pot had already grown to massive proportions on a {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board. Khoroshenin bet 45,000 and Simao responded by shoving all in. It was around 80,000 more for the Russian to call, who put his remaining stack in after using a time bank chip.

Oleksii Khoroshenin: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Joao Simao: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Khoroshenin's trip kings bit the dust against Simao's full house and the Russian was out.

Peters Falls to Thorel

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Directly after the monster clash between Joao Simao and Oleksii Khoroshenin, David Peters got eliminated from the same table. Jean-Noel Thorel had opened the action to 4,000 and Peters and Simao defended their blinds.

On a {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, it was checked to Thorel who bet. Peters check-raised all in, Simao folded and the Frenchman called.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
David Peters: {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Peters was eliminated after the board ran out {5-Spades} {10-Clubs}.

The Last Three Re-Entries

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Emil Patel, Mikita Badziakouski and Oleksii Khoroshenin are the last three entries for the High Roller tournament, all three of them jumping at the last second.

Jimmy Guerrero was playing mind games with Aliaksei Boika in the last hand of the previous level when tournament staff announced the closing of registration. Guerrero raised to 4,000 and Mike Watson called before Boika three-bet to 14,000. Guerrero four-bet to 29,000 and that shut down all further action.

Sammartino Takes Down Heidorn

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

On a completed board of {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}, cutoff Dario Sammartino and button Robert Heidorn were involved in heavy action. Sammartino checked the river to Heidorn, who went all in for 95,000.

Sammartino sighed, leaned back in his chair, then leaned forward to study his opponent. After twenty seconds, the Italian pro slid in a call.

Robert Heidorn: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Dario Sammartino: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}

Sammartino's flush sent Heidorn packing, who is unable to reenter as late registration has now closed.
