Shane Buchwald Gets Paid

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

With about 1,100 in the pot and the board reading {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}, the player in the big blind led out for 700. The hijack called and Shane Buchwald raised to 3,500 from the cutoff. The big blind called and the hijack folded.

The river was the {a-Hearts} and the big blind checked. Buchwald fired out a bet of 5,575 and the big blind went into the tank. After counting his remaining chips and analyzing the situation for a minute or two, he called.

Buchwald tabled {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for two pair and the big blind mucked his hand dejectedly.

Rodrigo Chavez Takes a Stand

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player in middle position raised to 550. Rodrigo Chavez was on the button and called along with the player in the small blind. Shane Buchwald was in the big blind and three-bet to 2,100. The initial raiser folded and Chavez called, as did the small blind.

The flop was {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades} and the small blind checked. Buckwald bet 1,500 and was quickly raised by Chavez up to 3,500. The small blind folded and Buchwald called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Buchwald checked. Chavez fired out a bet of 5,200 and Buchwald folded. Chavez then stood up in his seat and showed his hand which was {a-}{q-} for ace high.

Oscar Alache Lasts One Level

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Oscar Alache

Alejandro Vasquez was in early position and raised to 600. The player on the button called, as did a short-stacked Oscar Alache from the small blind.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Alache checked. Vasquez bet 1,000 and the button called. Alache thought for a moment and check-raised all in for his last 3,800 in chips. Both Vasquez and the button called.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and Vasquez led out for 4,000. The button shook his head and folded.

Before the two players could turn their cards over, the dealer put out the {3-Clubs} on the river and Vasquez quickly tabled {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a straight to the six. Alache flashed the {a-Hearts} for a lower straight and then headed for the doors.
