Rodrigo Chavez was in middle position and raised to 800. Shane Buchwald was in the cutoff and three-bet up to 2,200. The player on the button called, as did Chavez.

The flop was {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Chavez led out for 1,500. Buchwald called and the button folded.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Chavez bet 4,000. Buchwald immediately put in the rest of his stack, totalling 16,825. Chavez went into the tank and after a bit of banter between the two, Buchwald called for a clock. The tournament director arrived at the table and was giving Chavez his ten-second countdown, during which time Chavez announced, "Fold" and flashed {a-}{q-}. Buchwald looked at his cards and turned over the {j-Hearts} while sending his second card face down into the muck and scooping up his chips.

Rodrigo Maclean Defends His Big Blind

The cutoff limped in, as did Gabriel Lopez in the small blind. Rodrigo Maclean was in the big blind and raised to 1,500. The cutoff called, and Lopez folded.

Maclean thought for about 30 seconds and called. His opponent tapped the table and was reluctant to table his hand. Maclean motioned for him to table his cards first, and he showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for queen high. Maclean revealed {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a flush and scooped the pot.

Ezequiel Waigel Takes King High to the River

In the hand just before the break, a big pot was brewing at Ezequiel Waigel's table.

There was about 14,000 in the middle, on a board reading {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and the player in the small blind led out for 8,000. Waigel was in the hijack and called.

The river was the {9-Hearts} and the small blind moved all in for about 15,000. Waigel pulled his hood down and asked for a count. After just a few seconds, he called.

The small blind tabled {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for queen high. Waigel stood up and showed {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for king high and scooped the pot, eliminating his opponent in the process. They two players shook hands, and Waigel headed for a break while his opponent hit the rail.

Jorge Teodoulou Takes One Down on the Last Hand Before Break

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

Fernandez first got his stack in the middle with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} against Diego Nicolas' {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and was unable to improve. Just a few hands later, Nicolas was the one holding ace-king, and Fernandez was unable to make a hand to save his tournament life.

Registration is still open until the end of level 8, so it is possible he may hop in again soon.

The river was the {a-Spades}. Chauriye checked, and Tarifeno thought for about a minute before betting 11,500. Chauriye let out a sigh and shook his head. He counted out his stack, looked back at his cards and eventually folded.
