Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Amos Ben

Day 2 of the PokerStars Festival Chile $500,000 guaranteed Main Event has come to an end with 32 players bagging their chips and moving on to Day 3.

Three Chileans lead the field and look to close out strong .Leading the way is two-time LAPT High Roller champion, Amos Ben, who has amassed quite an impressive resume. He has over $800,000 in live career earnings, with his biggest score of $101,000 from the 2015 Gran Final Millonaria Enjoy Conrad in Uruguay. Ben goes into Day 3 with 796,000 chips after a late surge on Day 2.

Miguel Zarzar sits in second place, and who was among the top three in chips for most of the day. Zarzar is a popular local and looks to go deep with his 632,000 in chips. Rounding out the top three is Hector Valenzuela. He bagged 471,000 and is looking for his first live Main Event cash.

Other notables moving on to Day 3 include Andres Vega (388,000), Tomas Carvallo (381,000), Sergio Dario Tello (341,000), Richard Dubini (287,000), Nicolas Malandre (269,000), Joaquin Barcena (155,000), Martin Pineiro (130,000) and Andre Roberto Finkelberg (125,000).

The day ended mid-way through level 17 and players will begin Day 3 from that point. Around the start of level 16, the money bubble burst and it was Team PokerStars Pro and High Roller Champion, Leo Fernandez, who was the final elimination before the money hit. Chile's Quirima Gonzalez was the last woman in the field and the only one to make it to Day 2, walking away with ($2,840) for her efforts.

As expected, Chile has turned out to be a popular destination for South Americans, but plenty of players from other countries around the world have joined in on the action. Of the 224 unique entries in the Main Event, Chile made up 133 of these, with Argentina having the second-best showing with 63. Brazil had six entries, and Mexico attracted five. There were 17 players from other countries, including one a piece from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

Day 3 begins at noon local time and will play down to eight players. Blinds will continue from 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante where the remaining 32 players will battle it out for the PokerStars Festival Chile Main Event title, and the $97,360 that goes along with it.

Team PokerStars Pro Leo Fernandez Eliminated on the Bubble

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Leo Fernandez
Leo Fernandez

Action folded around to Andres Vega in late position, and he raised to 12,000. Argentinian Team PokerStars Pro, Leo Fernandez, moved all in for about 50,000 from the cutoff, and Vega snap-called. Fernandez was at risk as Vega had him covered by over 300,000 chips.

Once the tournament director gave the dealer the go-ahead, both players tabled their hands, with Vega showing {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Fernandez revealing {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The high roller champion needed one of the two remaining fives in the deck to survive, but unfortunately for him the board ran out {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and he was eliminated.

Fernandez may have been knocked out just one spot from the money, but he goes home with a third high roller title to add to his impressive resume.

The bubble lasted about 25 minutes, and all remaining players are now guaranteed a minimum payout of $2,840.

Juan Parra Catches Leo Fernandez in the Act

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Juan Parra
Juan Parra

With about 20,000 in the pot, on a board reading {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}, Juan Parra checked from the small blind. Leo Fernandez was in the big blind and bet 13,000. Parra thought for a bout a minute and called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Parra check-called a bet of 30,500 from Fernandez. The river was the {j-Hearts} and Parra checked again. Fernandez went into the tank and then slid forward a bet worth 20,000. Parra kept thinking, and eventually Fernandez asked, "Nueve?", meaning nine is Spanish. After asking this, Parra quickly called.

Fernandez tabled {q-Spades}{6-Spades} for a busted flush draw, and Parra stood up and proudly tabled {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Sergio Dario Takes Down a Massive Three-Way All in

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Sergio Dario Tello
Sergio Dario Tello

Teunis Kooij was under the gun and raised to 4,500. Sergio Dario Tello was in middle position and called. Milton De La Fuente three-bet up to 22,000 from the cutoff and action was back on Kooij who pushed all in for 104,000. Tello tanked for several minutes, having Kooij covered by about 70,000. Tello elected to call, as did Fuente for his remaining 20,000.

Tello tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades}, Kooij showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Fuente had {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came down {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, putting Tello in the lead and leaving Kooij drawing very slim, and with Fuente holding the only diamond to make a flush. The turn and river bricked off with the {4-Clubs} and {6-Spades}, sending this monstrous pot to Tello and making him our new chip leader.
