Lai's Attempt at a Second Bag Ends Early

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Kwok Chun Lai bagged on Day 1b, but with only 21,700, he decided to try to get through Day 1c with a bigger stack. Those hopes are over after he faced a bet of 11,225 into a pot of about 17,000 on a board of {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Lai tanked awhile from the button and then called off most of his stack but couldn't beat the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} shown down by Dosun Park.

The next hand, Lai got his last 2,100 in but lost with {a-}{7-} to his neighbor's {a-}{10-}.

Level 6 : 250/500, 65 ante
Celina Lin
Celina Lin

Action folded around to Celina Lin in the cutoff and she raised to 1,500. The button called, both blinds got out of the way, and the two players saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Lin checked and the button checked behind.

The turn brought the {2-Diamonds} and they checked again.

The river was the {2-Hearts} and Lin bet 2,500. Her opponent folded fairly quickly and she took the chips.

Zhu Shows One

Level 6 : 250/500, 65 ante

On a {2-}{q-}{a-} flop, a player in the big blind bet just 1,000 into a pot of about 7,000, and Xiangbiao Zhu popped it up to 10,000. That was enough to convince the big blind to fold, and Zhu showed the {a-Diamonds} as he pushed his cards into the middle.

Simon Burns Stacked by Nobuyuki Okuda

Level 6 : 250/500, 65 ante

Simon Burns raised to 1,100 from early position and the player in the hijack three-bet to 3,000. Nobuyuki Okuda called from the big blind and after a bit of thought, Burns called, as well.

The flop fell {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Okuda and Burns got all the chips in the middle in a flurry of action with Burns at risk.

Okuda: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Burns: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Both players had overcards to the board and flopped flush draws, but Okuda's was better and Burns needed help from the deck in order to double up. The {4-Hearts} turn changed nothing and the {A-Hearts} river gave Okuda a pair of aces to take the pot.
