Shorties Shoving

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Yuriy Boyko opened for 175,000 from under the gun and Lam Van Trinh, one of the short stacks, moved all in from UTG+1.

Action folded back round to Boyko who gave it some thought. “It’s not my favourite hand.” Van Trinh said and shortly after Boyko folded and they were left guessing what Van Trinh had.

A few hands later it was action on Eric Cech and he moved all in. A succession of players peeked at their cards but none found a call.

Short stacks picking up some valuable chips with all ins.

Tripodi Takes from Geilich

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Ludovic Geilich opened the action with a raise from the hijack and Clement Tripodi called on the button. On the {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop, Geilich continued for 230,000 and was soon after met by a raise of Tripodi. The Frenchman made it 510,000 in total and Geilich called, then checked on the {2-Diamonds} turn.

Tripodi bet 625,000 with 1,350,000 behind and Geilich carefully checked his remaining stack before sending the cards into the muck.

Pot for Tripodi In the Big Blind

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Yuriy Boyko opened from under the gun for 225,000 and got a call from big blind Clement Tripodi.

The flop was {8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Tripodi check-called a bet of 205,000.

Both players checked the {10-Spades} turn and the {9-Spades} river.

Tripodi showed {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for top pair and Boyko was all for mucking but the floor ruled his hand should be shown and it was {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

Lam Van Trinh Eliminated in 8th Place (£12,150)

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Lam Van Trinh
Lam Van Trinh

Clement Tripodi had just given up a pot against Daniel Harwood and it was then checked to the Frenchman on the button. Tripodi raised to 210,000 and Yuriy Boyko flat-called from the small blind. Lam Van Trinh moved all in and Tripodi folded after brief consideration, while Boyko quickly asked for a count when it was his turn to act.

The shove of Trinh was for 1,500,000 and Boyko called to put his opponent at risk.

Lam Van Trinh: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Yuriy Boyko: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The {Q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop saw Boyko take the lead with a pair of queens, and both the {9-Diamonds} turn and {K-Hearts} river failed to improve Van Trinh. He was eliminated in 8th place for a payday of £12,150.

Geilich Four-Bet Shoves

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Ludovic Geilich opened from early position for 215,000 and Yuriy Boyko three-bet to 550,000.

Geilich took his usual amount of time before pushing all his stack in.

Boyko asked for a count, it was 3,225,000, and gave it some hard thinking for a couple of minutes before folding.

Boyko Builds Stack

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

In a limped pot in a battle of the blinds, Clement Tripodi filled up and Yuris Boyko checked his option. On the {J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, Tripodi bet 110,000 and Boyko called before the {K-Spades} turn went check, check. Tripodi then bet the {6-Hearts} river for 180,000 and Boyko raised to 600,000.

Tripodi was in the think tank and the clock was called on him, after half a minute the Frenchman let go. Fellow countryman Alexis Fleur then moved all in for 1,005,000 one hand later and claimed the blinds and antes.

Cech Doubles Through Geilich

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Eric Cech in the small blind and he moved all in. Ludovic Geilich in the big blind asked for a count and found it was 1,100,000. A bit of maths later and Geilich called.

Cech had {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Geilich tabled {k-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The flop was a dramatic one with {4-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts} giving Cech a top set but Geilich his flush draw.

Necks on the rail craned to see the turn card {a-Diamonds} and river {10-Diamonds} brick out to double the Australian up.

Another Tank and a Quick Break

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Yuriy Boyko opened to 225,000 from under the gun and the action folded all the way around to Clement Tripodi, who called. All players had agreed on a quick five-minute break at the end of the level, only the duo remained seated while the flop came {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Tripodi checked and called a continuation bet worth 225,000 before doing so again for 550,000 on the {6-Spades} turn.

The {10-Clubs} river completed the board and Tripodi checked. Boyko fired a third barrel worth 750,000 and Tripodi carefully checked his stack, spending a few minutes without being able to make up his mind. Eventually, the Frenchman folded while all opponents had returned from their quick break.

Boyko Vs. Harwood

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Yuriy Boyko completed in the small blind and Daniel Harwood gave him a funny look and checked his option in the big blind. The flop was all low cards and Boyko check-folded to a bet from Harwood who grinned. “I need a base line.” Boyko said.

The next hand Boyko was on the button and opened for 360,000. Harwood in the small blind raised to 800,000. The big blind folded and Boyko had a bit of a dwell up but folded.

There could be fireworks eventually.
