James Macgillivray Peels

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

James Macgillivray opened the action for 1,100 and faced a three-bet from Stefano Frisoli in the cut-off. Macgillivray gave it some thought and called.

The flop was {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and both players decided to check. On the turn card {j-Diamonds} Macgillivray checked again allowing Frisoli to bet 2,900.

Macgillivray looked unsure but folded.

Noguera Busts MacIntyre

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Fraser MacIntyre
Fraser MacIntyre

Fraser MacIntyre got the last of his 4,150 stack in preflop out of the small blind and no less than four opponents including William Kassouf in the hijack and Nicolas Noguera on the button called. A small side pot of 1,600 emerged and the flop came {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. The initial raiser bet 2,500 and just Noguera called.

On the {3-Spades} turn, the action checked to Noguera and he bet 5,000, which was called. After the {6-Hearts} river, it was again checked to Noguera and his shove forced a fold from the sole remaining active opponent. "Queens?" MacIntyre asked and turned over his {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}, Noguera had {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} for the flopped full house which saw the Scotsman bow out.

MacIntyre will be back for the turbo heat in the evening though, and Kassouf got a selfie with him for a friend before MacIntyre headed for either the cash game tables or the bar - he was not sure yet which of the two.

Deadman Puts The Heat On

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Simon Deadman
Simon Deadman

Yannick Michel opened and got two callers including Simon Deadman in the big blind.

The flop was {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Michel continued for 1,275. With the other player folding Deadman check-raised to 3,000. Michel responded with a further raise to 7,300 and Deadman called.

The turn card was the {10-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the river card {5-Spades} Deadman led out for 13,200.

Michel asked to see how much Deadman was playing, it wasn’t much compared to the size of the pot. After agonising for a while he folded in frustration saying he thought Deadman had, “three of a kind.”

Deadman showed {7-Spades} and collected the pot.

Daniel Burrow Buries Olav Laulo

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Olav Laulo and Daniel Burrow have been tangling all day. Burrow has position and has been getting the best of it. He will have to find a new sparring partner now though as he just felted Laulo.

It folded to Laulo in late position who shoved for 4,500. Burrow called. “You have Jack nine?” Lalo asked referring to an earlier conversation about a hand. “I have a pair.” Laulo continued.

Laulo turned over {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Burrow had him buried with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} and a vacant seat just became available.

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Praz Bansi opened for 1,000 from early position and got a call from William Kassouf. Charles Laczny in the small blind came along as did the big blind.

A confrontations between Bansi and Kassouf on later streets would surely get interesting

The flop was {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} and Laczny ruined everyone’s fun by betting 2,100 and taking the pot.
