Paul Skipper Falls to Zoltan Ban

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Paul Skipper
Paul Skipper

The action folded around to Paul Skipper in the small blind and he moved all in for what looked like 120,000. Zoltan Ban called in the big blind and the Brit had a flip for his tournament life.

Paul Skipper: {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Zoltan Ban: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

On a flop of {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Skipper already stood up from his chair, as if he knew the fate ahead. Neither the {6-Spades} turn nor the {8-Clubs} river improved Skipper and he was eliminated in 12th place, racking up his second score of the year in a PokerStars Festival after finishing 15th in the London Main Event back in January.

Antoine Vranken Eliminated by Sebastian Malec

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Antoine Vranken
Antoine Vranken

Once the action folded to Antoine Vranken over on table one, he moved all in for 130,000 from the button. Sebastian Malec called out of the big blind and Vranken was in need of help.

Antoine Vranken: {9-Spades}{6-Spades}
Sebastian Malec: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop was bad news for Vranken, as two of his outs were gone. The Dutchman was drawing dead on the {A-Diamonds} turn, making the {2-Diamonds} river a formality. Vranken left the table with a smile and takes home €4,306.

Daniil Kiselev Eliminated

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Daniil Kiselev
Daniil Kiselev

Daniil Kiselev soared into the lead late on Day 1, but his run in the €2,200 Main Event has come to an end in 14th place. "I folded the last three orbits," Kiselev said after he had shoved for 90,000 from the button and Zoltan Ban reshoved in the small blind. Action was on Anestis Anagnostidis in the big blind, who carefully counted his remaining stack. Ultimately, the Greek folded and the cards were tabled.

Daniil Kiselev: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Zoltan Ban: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

While Kiselev took the lead on the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, the hopes of a comeback took a hit with the {K-Clubs} turn. Only a ten or a queen would avoid the elimination of the Russian, yet the {4-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Kiselev was done for the day.

Willsch Loses Flip to Malec

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Mirko Willsch
Mirko Willsch

The next German bows out and Mirko Willsch has to settle for 15th place and a payday of €4,306.

Down to 128,000, Willsch moved all in from under the gun and the action folded all the way around to Sebastian Malec in the big blind. He glanced at his cards and tossed in a single chip for the call.

Mirko Willsch: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Sebastian Malec: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}

The German had a flip for his tournament life and stood up from his chair when the flop came {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. On {A-Clubs} turn, Malec also hit the second over card and Willsch was drawing to the last two nines in the deck. Instead, the {2-Spades} river completed the board and that reduced the field to the last 14.

Ban Busts Lew to Claim Lead

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Randy Lew

A congratulations ticket for the 77th place in the PokerStars Cup was next to the big stack of Zoltan Ban, and the local player had bagged up chips and opted to blind down in the Side Event today while focusing on the High Roller. That has worked out incredibly well so far, and Ban just sent PokerStars Team Online Pro Randy Lew to the rail.

Ban raised to 14,000 from the cutoff and Lew moved all in for what looked like just under 100,000. Ban called and Lew was in need of help.

Randy Lew: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Zoltan Ban: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The board came {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Lew was eliminated in 18th place.

Srinivas Bubbles the High Roller; Zaffran Also Misses the Money

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Santosh Srinivas bubbles
Santosh Srinivas bubbles

On all three tables there was an all in, and two players were at risk while David Urban folded in a massive pot against Sebastian Malec. As a result, the bubble burst in spectacular fashion.

Hand 1

Michael Uguccioni raised to 12,500 and Robert Zipf called from one seat over. Jean Paul Zaffran moved all in and Uguccioni asked for a count. Zaffran was all in for 71,000 and Uguccioni then shoved after getting a count on the stack of Zipf. The latter folded and said in table chat he had ace-king.

Jean Paul Zaffran: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Michael Uguccioni: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The board came {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Zaffran was eliminated to reduce the field to the last 21.

Hand 2

A massive pot emerged in a raising war between David Urban from early position and Sebastian Malec in the small blind. More than 100,000 were in the middle and the flop showed {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Malec bet 55,000 and Urban called before the 2016 EPT Barcelona champion shoved the {8-Hearts} turn. Urban asked for a count and Malec was all in for 177,500, having had Urban covered by two big blinds. After long consideration, Urban folded.

Hand 3

At the same time, Santosh Srinivas was all in for the last 35,000 and Zoltan Ban called in the big blind. They had to wait until the Malec vs Urban hand was over, and then the showdown took place.

Santosh Srivinas: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Zoltan Ban: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

After a board of {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, the Indian was crowned bubble boy and the remaining 20 players have €3,437 locked up.

Kiselev Busts Katchalov

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov open-shoved for his last 64,000 and the action folded to Daniil Kiselev in the big blind. He peeked at his cards and then quickly called to put Katchalov at risk.

Eugene Katchalov: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Daniil Kiselev: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

After the flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}, Katchalov was about to stand up, but stopped with his motion on the {6-Diamonds} turn. A blank {4-Hearts} river failed to improve the €5,300 King's High Roller runner up, and Katchalov was eliminated.

That's how many players bagged up chips last night after 14 levels of 40 minutes each, and only the top 20 spots of the 118-entry strong field will share a portion of the €228,920 prize pool.

Leading the field thus far is Russia's Daniil Kiselev with 286,000, followed by Anestis Anagnostidis (239,500) and Dorin Rauta (236,500). 2016 EPT Barcelona champion Sebastian Malec (223,000), PokerStars Team Online Pro Randy "nanonoko" Lew (186,500) and Antoine Vranken (147,000) also made it into the top 10 overnight, while €1,100 Main Event bubble boy Pietro Errante Parrino (136,000), €5,300 King's High Roller runner up Eugene Katchalov (72,500), Aviv Meiri (66,000) and [Removed:197] (42,000) are also still in contention.

The tournament is scheduled to play down to a winner, and with levels lasting 40 minutes each, this may only be done in the early morning hours. Action resumes in level 15 with blinds of 2,000 / 4,000 and a running ante of 500. A minimum cash is worth €3,437, while the victory comes with a payday of €47,929 and the elusive PokerStars Festival High Roller trophy.

The PokerNews live reporting team will provide all the action until the last river card is dealt, so make sure to tune back regularly. As of 12.30 p.m. local time, the final day of the €1,100 Main Event kicks off as well and you can follow the updates here.
