Blast from the past poker star [Removed:197] has become the latest casualty of Day 1b. There was around 16,000 in the middle with a board reading . [Removed:198] went all in for 9,000 from the big blind and Josef Snejberg called on the button.
[Removed:198] showed for trip sevens, but Snejberg held for the diamond flush and sent [Removed:198] home. The German with Lebanese roots will most likely show up on Day 1d to try and qualify in the turbo.
"As a first-timer here in Rozvadov, I've got to admit: I didn't know what to expect. When you search for the place on Google Maps it looks like it's a small village in the middle of nowhere.
And then you get here, and...that's exactly what it is. But when you start to get a feel for the place, the beauty of King's Casino shines through. After all, you're in town for the poker, and that's the main attraction here. But there are plenty of things to enjoy while you're off the felt, too."
As the enormous clock in the tournament area ticks down towards the end of Level 5, we thought we'd bring you all the happenings here from Day 1B of the PokerStars Festival Rozvadov Main Event.
Right now, there are 214 players left from the 248 who have taken their seats so far, but registration is open right up until the beginning of Level 7. The main stories from early on in the day were that of Martin Kabrhel, Andreas Eiler and Vladimir Troyanovskiy.
One of the late registrants of today is none other than Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. The Team PokerStars Pro slightly build up his starting stack and sits at 36,000.
On a board of all the chips flew in the middle between Kurtulus Albayrak and Rinat Bogdanov. Bogdanov held and needed to improve against Albayrak's to survive. The on the turn and on the river didn't help the Russian and he headed for the rail.
The joy of freerolls. Not something pros would batter an eyelid over, but often a great way for amateurs to win free money to build up their bankroll. And although the prizepools might not always be worth writing home about, one pops up every so often that's worth braving the eye-watering fields to play.
Take when PokerStars announced a series of freerolls hosted by Team Pro's Marcin Horecki and ElkY, where the winner would win a trip Rozvadov and entry into the PokerStars Festival Main Event. You can read his story on the PokerStars blog.
