Barbarez Off-Target

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Sergej Barbarez (archive)
Sergej Barbarez (archive)

Former HSV striker and Bosnian football legend Sergej Barbarez is still on the pitch. In a hand with Gediminas Kareckas, both players arrived at the turn on a board of {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Kareckas bet 8,800, Barbarez raised to 20,500 and Kareckas called.

On the {5-Clubs} river, both players quickly checked. Barbarez showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and made a solid check behind, as Kareckas had him completely crushed with {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. The Bosnian might have been off-target in this hand, he didn't lose too much and is still kicking it with 75,000.

Aurelian Rising

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jan Stariat remains among the biggest stacks in the room followed by Josef Gulas, but Gheorghe Stefan-Aurelian just managed to build his stack significantly.

After a raise to 5,500, the Romanian called in the cutoff and the button three-bet to 25,000. The initial raiser got out of the way, but Stefan-Aurelian called. On the {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, he check-called a continuation bet worth 23,000 before the {10-Hearts} turn and {K-Hearts} river were checked through.

Stefan-Aurelian showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for two pair and his opponent on the button mucked.

Jaime Staples Busting a Move
Jaime Staples Busting a Move

"Chances are you've already stumbled across a little viral video which surfaced online two nights ago, featuring PokerStars Team Online's Jaime Staples busting a few moves at a party with two pretty girls alongside him.

The reason we bring that up again (sorry, Jaime) is because it shows - in its carefree, joyous, YOLO swagger - just how much fun this young guy is having right now."
