Day 1 Started

The PokerStars Festival $3,300 High Roller Begins Soon!

The Conrad Casino
The Conrad Casino

It's been an exciting week of poker so far here at the PokerStars Festival in Uruguay. While the Main Event is down to just 14 players, the $3,300 High Roller begins today and should see a slew of players returning for yet another shot. Some of the players expected to be in attendance include PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez, PokerStars Cup Uruguay Winner Gustavo Prato, and World Series of Poker Bracelet Winner Andres Korn just to name a few. We can also expect some of the players who fall in the main event today to enter as well, as the cash prize for a bust out now is well over the buy-in for the High Roller.

Action kicks off at 6 p.m. local time here at the Conrad Casino and players will play six levels to kick off Day 1. Players will begin with 50,000 chips and players have the option of rebuying into this event as many times as they like. Registration will be open until level 9 which is scheduled to be the third level of Day 2. Blinds will kick off at 50/100 and each level will be 60 minutes long. The plan is to play six levels on Day 1, ten levels on Day 2, and down to a winner on Day 3.

It's just a short wait until action kicks off for this event so make sure to stay tuned as PokerNews will be here with live coverage for the entire event.

Early Pot For Colonese

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On the flop with the board showing {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} Christopher Franco checked over to Fabio Colonese. Colonese fired a bet off of 1,000 which Franco called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and both players checked. The {J-Hearts} was the river and Franco checked a third time. Colonese put together another bet this time for 2,150, but Franco didn't call, and that allowed Colonese to take down the early pot.

Malandre Doesn't Have To Show To Win

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Hector Fadul opened with a raise to 300 and he was called by Fabio Colonese from middle position and Nicolas Malandre from the blinds. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and action checked to Fadul who bet 300 again. Colonese folded while Malandre check-raised to 800. Fadul called.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and Malandre continued with a bet of 1,200. Fadul called again.

On the {4-Diamonds} river, Malandre bet once more, this time betting 1,800. Fadul raised to 6,000 but mucked his hand when Malandre immediately called. Malandre didn't show either but took down the pot to climb up the chip counts.

Cerruti Takes From Colonese

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With about 1,200 chips already in the middle and the board reading {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, action checked to Fabio Colonese in the cutoff and he bet 600. Alberto Cerruti called from the button and the two players saw the {A-Diamonds} fall on the river. Colonese checked and Cerruti bet 2,000. After brief consideration, Colonese called and Cerruti rolled over {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for bottom set. Colonese mucked and Cerruti took the chips.
