"V1ct0r0" Eliminated in 8th Place ($1,483)

"V1ct0r0"
"V1ct0r0"

In Level 30 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,000, action folded to "Batmanstein" in the small blind just three hands after they eliminated "BigRon324" in ninth place. They open-jammed for the effective stack of 274,980 that "V1ct0r0" had in the big blind, and a call was made to put "V1ct0r0" at risk for their tournament life.

"V1ct0r0": {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
"Batmanstein": {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

"V1ct0r0" was a severe underdog and the runout {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} did nothing to change that, resulting in them taking eighth place in the tournament for a payday of $1,483.

"BigRon324" Eliminated in 9th Place ($1,106)

"BigRon324"
"BigRon324"

In Level 30 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,000, "BigRon324" open-jammed for 473,296 in early position and received a call from "Batmanstein" on their direct left. No other takers were to be had.

"BigRon324": {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
"Batmanstein": {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

"BigRon324" saw two of their outs disappear on the flop {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and no further help came as the turn {10-Hearts} and river {a-Hearts} completed the runout to bring about their elimination in ninth place.

"Batmanstein" Starts Off Hot

Hand #1: In Level 30 with blinds of 25,000/50,000 and an ante of 6,000, "batmanstein" was down to their last 191,776 under the gun and jammed. Action folded around to "BigRon324" in the big blind, who called.

"Batmanstein": {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
"BigRon324": {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

"Batmanstein" got an easy double as the board ran out {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

"Batmanstein"
"Batmanstein"

Hand #2: Two hands later, action folded to "Batmanstein" in the small blind and they shoved for 400,552. "V1ct0r0" called in the big blind.

"Batmanstein": {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
"V1ct0r0": {3-Hearts}{3-Spades}

After just doubling, "Batmanstein" needed to win a coin flip to stay alive and get a second double early at the final table. The flop {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs} gave them four extra outs and the turn {10-Spades} added six more to that total. The river {k-Spades} completed Broadway and scored them the second double, leaving "V1ct0r0" with less than two blinds after the pot. However, they would then double on the very next hand to gain a small amount of breathing room.

"JDrik09" Eliminated on the Final Table Bubble by Henry "xlzou1990" Zou

In Level 29 with blinds of 20,000/40,000 and an ante of 5,000, "JDrik09" saw action fold to them on the button and they jammed for their remaining 206,216. Henry "xlzou1990" Zou re-jammed in the small blind to force a fold behind.

"JDrik09": {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Henry "xlzou1990" Zou: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

"JDrik09" found themselves drawing dead by the turn on a runout of {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades}, hitting a pair of jacks on the river that still left them no good to Zou's two queens. As a result, they finished in 10th place.

The nine remaining players have now reached the final table. Stay tuned for updated counts.

"9NINENINE" Knocks Out Two, Zou Gets One; Hand-for-Hand Play Begins Once More

"8goldchains"
"8goldchains"

In Level 29 with blinds of 20,000/40,000 and an ante of 5,000, "9NINENINE" opened to 80,000 under the gun and action folded around to "8goldchains" in the big blind, who three-bet shoved for 238,394. "9NINENINE" called.

"8goldchains": {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
"9NINENINE": {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The flop {2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} gave "9NINENINE" top two pair and left "8goldchains" with just a gutshot to Broadway. The turn {2-Hearts} gave them a possibility at a better two pair should Barry Greenstein pay them a visit, but instead {5-Spades} completed the runout and "8goldchains" was eliminated from the tournament in 13th place.

In the blink of an eye thereafter, "megatron06869" lost with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} versus Henry "xlzou1990" Zou's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and then "9NINENINE" knocked out "ParryGreen$tein" after their {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} held vs {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}, both in all-in preflop situations.

The trio of bust-outs has reduced the field from 13 to 10, and hand-for-hand play is now in effect as the final table bubble has been reached.

"Coolriver84" Falls; "WadeDavenport" Follows

"Coolriver84"
"Coolriver84"

In Level 28 with blinds of 15,000/30,000 and an ante of 3,750, "Coolriver84" open-jammed for 142,101 on the button and received action from "PrinceTurtle" in the small blind.

"Coolriver84": {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
"PrinceTurtle": {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

"Coolriver84" saw one of their two live cards connect on the flop {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs} to pull ahead, but running {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts} gave "PrinceTurtle" a wheel by the river, resulting in them taking 15th place in the tournament.

Just moments later, "WadeDavenport" got the last of their chips into the middle preflop with {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against the {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of "9NINENINE" and a ten on the turn brought about their 14th-place finish. Both players earned $782 for their efforts, and the pair of eliminations means that all 13 players remaining will now earn at least $930.

Another Pair of Doubles

"UncleBuppy"
"UncleBuppy"

Hand #1 In Level 27 with blinds of 12,500/25,000 and an ante of 3,250, "megatron06869" open-limped in middle position and proceeded to call a shove of 243,212 from "UncleBuppy", who was in the small blind.

"UncleBuppy": {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
"megatron06869": {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Five bricks rolled off on the runout {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and "UncleBuppy" scored the easy dub, leaving "megatron06869" under a quarter-million after the pot was shipped their way.

Hand #2 In Level 28 with blinds of 15,000/30,000 and an ante of 3,750 just a couple of hands later, "PimpMyBalance" opened to 60,000 under the gun and action folded around to "megatron06869" in the big blind, who defended.

With 165,000 in the middle, the flop came {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and "megatron06869" went all in for 162,360. "PimpMyBalance" called.

"megatron06869": {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
"PimpMyBalance": {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

"megatron06869" was ahead but their second-nut-flush draw was up against the one club that could top it. Fortunately for them, the turn {7-Spades} and river {3-Diamonds} left their queen kicker best and they scored a double just moments after ceding one.

David "steadymobbin420" Poppenfuse on the MICOOP Grind

David Poppenfuse
David Poppenfuse

David "steadymobbin420" Poppenfuse, 33, is from Otisville, Michigan but currently resides in the Burton/Flint area.

Self-employed, Poppenfuse plays poker on the side. He first learned the game at the age of 15 while playing in a garage and on golf tees.

"As I got older, I started to take it more seriously and started playing at different places including online prior to 2011," he told PokerNews.

Poppenfuse is well-versed in all games, but he plays primarily no-limit hold'em, pot-limit Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo.

"On PokerStars, I mainly play tournaments and play cash live," he revealed. "When I do play live it's $1-$2 or $2-$5 hold'em or PLO for the most part."

Right now, Poppenfuse finds himself among the Michigan poker community taking their game online in an attempt to nab a coveted MICOOP title.
