2021 Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP)

The 2021 PokerStars Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP) returns Wednesday night with four-card action for Event #41: $250 PLO [6-Max, High Roller] $20K Gtd.

Play gets underway at 8 p.m. ET, and registration is already open for everybody within the Mitten (and Upper Peninsula, of course). Given the success of the inaugural MICOOP upon legalization of online poker in Michigan, the original $12.5K guaranteed prize pool was upped by some 60%, with even the new figure likely to be surpassed.

All who enter will receive 25,000 starting stacks with blinds beginning at 80/160. Unlike its No-Limit Hold'em counterpart that saw 10 minute-levels, each round for this Pot-Limit Omaha event will last 12 minutes apiece. Late registration will remain open for two hours and 40 minutes, likely closing midway through Level 13 (800/1,600). Up to three re-entries (four total bullets) are available during this period.

As far as PLO is concerned, Event #41 is the highest buy-in of the series. Two other $100 events also ran earlier this series, the first of which drew 218 entries for a prize pool of $20,012 and saw "VolcanoBurst" earn the top prize of $3,902 on February 21. Three days later, a midweek version drew another 158 entries for an overall prize pool of $14,504. In that edition, "teddylanksy" came out on top and earned $2,788 for their performance.

In Level 2 with blinds of 100/200, Andrew "autokorekt" Korby raised to 1,100 on the button over two limpers at a five-handed table. A family pot ensued to a flop of and action checked to Korby, who made a continuation-bet of 1,600. "Constorkonist" called in the big blind, as did "brickingflops1" in the cutoff.

Action went three ways to the turn and action checked to Korby once more. He fired a second barrel of 6,800 and only "Constorkonist" called, leaving just two remaining to the river . "Constorkonist" checked once more and Korby jammed his last 14,740 into the middle, receiving another call to take the hand to showdown.

Korby's Broadway bested his opponent's king-high straight and he scored the early double as a result.

In Level 6 with blinds of 250/500, Andrew "autokorekt" Korby opened the action with a pot-sized raise to 1,750. "Omar Be Comin" called on the button, as did "JaDoncic" in the big blind.

The flop dropped and "JaDoncic" checked to put action onto Korby, who continuation-bet 2,750, half the size of the pot. "Omar Be Comin" raised the pot, making it 13,750 to go and leaving 2,200 behind. "JaDoncic" check-three-bet-jammed for 29,990, Korby folded, and "Omar Be Comin" called off what remained in their stack.

"JaDoncic" was way ahead with a set of treys to their opponent's top two pair, and they faded the two outer as the turn and river completed the runout.

Eighty-seven entries have now been recorded in Event #41 with play in Level 11 (600/1,200), and with it the guaranteed prize pool of $20,000 has officially been surpassed. Late registration remains open for another 25 minutes, closing at 10:40 p.m. ET.

Registration has officially closed with play moving into Level 13 (800/1,600). In total, 108 entries generated a prize pool of $25,164, more than 25% over its $20K guarantee.

Thirty-eight players remain and the top 14 will make it into the money. A first-level payout is good for $505, while the eventual winner will take home $5,876. Complete payout information can be found in the Payouts Tab above.

In Level 17 with blinds of 1,750/3,500, "sexycaitlyn" opened to 10,500 on the button and "RudyGTC" called, defending their big blind. The flop came and "RudyGTC" check-raised all in over a continuation-bet of 22,750 for their remaining stack of 37,362. "sexycaitlyn" matched the difference.

"RudyGTC" was unable to hit any of their wrap outs as the turn and river completed the runout and they were eliminated from the tournament as a result. Their elimination marked the fourth within the level, bringing the field down to 15, just one away from reaching the money.

With that, the tournament is now on the bubble and hand-for-hand play will be in effect on the three remaining tables until another elimination occurs.

In Level 19 with blinds of 2,500/5,000, "RaceC19" raised to 10,000 in the hijack at a five-handed table and "Ash1123" three-bet shoved for their last 22,987 in the cutoff. Action made its way back to "RaceC19" and they made the call for just under 13K more.

The flop gave "RaceC19" a pair of eights along with a gutshot straight flush draw. They further improved to two pair on the turn and proceeded to hit a straight on the river , eliminating "Ash1123" in 15th place as the official bubble finisher as a result.

In Level 20 with blinds of 3,000/6,000, "RaceC19" open-limped in the hijack and "grandma1967" raised to 18,000 in the hijack. Action folded back to "RaceC19" and they called.

The flop dropped and "RaceC19" led out with a pot-sized bet of 45,000. "grandma1967" called, bringing the turn . "RaceC19" mashed pot again, betting 135,000, and "grandma1967" called once more.The river fell and "RaceC19" jammed for 178,403 effective with "grandma1967" calling all in to either make them the new chip leader or bring about either their elimination from the tournament.

The straight was good for "grandma1967" and the pot of more than 750,000 was shipped their way, giving them more than double anybody else among the 12 that still remain.

In Level 23 with blinds of 5,000/10,000, "Jbird401" opened the action with a raise to 20,000 in the hijack. "Neckerson" called in the cutoff and "sexycaitlyn" three-bet to 30,000 on the button, leaving just 9,926 behind.

Action folded back to "Jbird401" and they four-bet to 125,000, prompting a five-bet shove from "Neckerson" for 291,652. "sexycaitlyn" called all in and "Jbird401" followed suit, putting their stack of 283,150 at risk as well for a three-way preflop all-in scenario.

"Neckerson" picked up a sweat on the flop but ultimately saw their pocket aces hold as the turn and river completed the runout to earn them the double knockout with aces up, taking the field from 10 to eight and bringing about hand-for-hand play as the final table bubble has now been reached.

In Level 23 with blinds of 5,000/10,000, the fourth hand of hand-for-hand play saw "Neckerson" raise to 30,000 in the cutoff with four players at the table and "C0LD_W0RLD" three-bet to 100,000 in the small blind. "Neckerson" four-bet to put "C0LD_W0RLD" all in for 125,552 and they called off their remaining chips.

"Neckerson" connected on every street of the runout , pulling ahead on the turn and ultimately finishing the hand with aces up to best the pocket kings of "C0LD_W0RLD", eliminating them in eighth place.
