Shankar “Burgersssss” Pillai Leads the Final 52 in the NJCOOP Main Event

The first day of the 2020 NJCOOP has finished, and the chip leader is Shankar “Burgersssss” Pillai. He will bring in 2,444,201 chips into play tomorrow. "angel zera" is the only other player over two million in chips. These two are on top of the list of 52 players who have moved on to tomorrow's finals, which will be starting up at 7 PM ET.

Arguably the biggest hand of the night for Pillai came when he won over a million chips with an underpair to the board. In that hand, Pillai called a big bet on the flop and turn, before taking it down on the river.

A few other notables who will be joining Pillai tomorrow are Dan "monkeyman067" Sewnig (870,629), Dan "AvaGray" Lupo (779,375), Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta (541,244), Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon (476858), and Mike “mmenz08816” Menzer (230,636).

Pokernews.com will be back tomorrow to finish out the coverage of this Main Event, so be sure you come back tomorrow night to see who takes home this latest Pokerstars New Jersey Main Event!

Lupo Extends His Chip Lead

Blinds: 2,500/5,000

Action kicked off with "epdawg5" raising to 10,000. Chip leader Dan "AvaGray" Lupo reraised to 25,000 on the button, and "epdawg5" called. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and "epdawg5" checked to Lupo, who continued for 23,680. "epdawg5" shot back with a raise to 75,000, and Lupo called to see the {7-Hearts} hit the turn. "epdawg5" fired 64,000, leaving himself just 1,300 behind. Lupo called, and the {3-Clubs} completed the board.

"epdawg5" put his final few chips in, and Lupo called with {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. His hand was good, as "epdawg5" showed {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a monster draw, but lesser kicker on the jack.

With that pot, Lupo has nearly 900,000.

Another Knockout for Lupo

Blinds: 700/1,400

Dan "AvaGray" Lupo raised it up to 3,220, and next to act, "renorick1946" reraised to 9,800. It folded back to Lupo, who made the call, and the flop ran down {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Lupo check called a bet of 9,800, and the {q-Spades} hit the turn.

18,200 was the bet that Lupo check called this time, and the river came {7-Clubs}. With the flush draw completed, Lupo 49,000, enough to put "renorick1946" all in. He called with {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}, but it was no good, as Lupo showed {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush.

"TheNewMonkey" Doubles With Aces

Blinds: 250/500

"bmweiser" raised to 2,270 from under the gun, and "TheNewMonkey" called. A few seats over, "Mummy's Bitch" would three bet it to 8,750. "bmweiser" called, but then, "TheNewMonkey" came in with a four bet to 20,900. "Mummy's Bitch" folded, but 'bmweiser" called, and the flop came down {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

"bmweiser" check called a bet of 24,090, and the {k-Spades} hit the turn. Another check from "bmweiser" saw "TheNewMonkey" move all in for 31,155. "bmweiser" called with {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}, but he was well behind the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} of "TheNewMonkey." A jack on the river changed nothing, and "TheNewMonkey" secured a nice double up.
