NJCOOP 47: $300 Main Event, $125K Gtd

Day 1 Completed

Shankar “Burgersssss” Pillai Leads the Final 52 in the NJCOOP Main Event

The first day of the 2020 NJCOOP has finished, and the chip leader is Shankar “Burgersssss” Pillai. He will bring in 2,444,201 chips into play tomorrow. "angel zera" is the only other player over two million in chips. These two are on top of the list of 52 players who have moved on to tomorrow's finals, which will be starting up at 7 PM ET.

Arguably the biggest hand of the night for Pillai came when he won over a million chips with an underpair to the board. In that hand, Pillai called a big bet on the flop and turn, before taking it down on the river.

A few other notables who will be joining Pillai tomorrow are Dan "monkeyman067" Sewnig (870,629), Dan "AvaGray" Lupo (779,375), Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta (541,244), Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon (476858), and Mike “mmenz08816” Menzer (230,636).

Pokernews.com will be back tomorrow to finish out the coverage of this Main Event, so be sure you come back tomorrow night to see who takes home this latest Pokerstars New Jersey Main Event!

End of Day Big Stacks and Notables

Read full

"aanzalone123" Scores Late Knockout

Blinds: 12,500/25,000

On one of the last hands of the night, "aanzalone123" saw himself on the right side of a preflop cooler, as he held {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} to the {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} of "Tilt-Donkeyy". The kings would hold on the runout of {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and "aanzalone123" took down the pot to boost his stack as the night ends.

Another Huge Pot For "GameofEdges"

Blinds: 10,000/20,000

"nittzoAo" moved all in for his final 110,000, and a few seats over, "GameofEdges" called. Action folded to the small blind, "angel zera", and he moved all in for 1.43 million. "GameofEdges" quickly called all in to create a pot of over 1.7 million chips.

"GameofEdges": {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
"nittzoAo": {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
"angel zera": {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The pocket kings would survive the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, the {2-Hearts} turn, and on the river, he caught an unneeded set with the {k-Spades}, pushing his stack up to 1.7 million.

Ladies Secure a Double for "senor stinks"

Blinds: 8,000/16,000

Action folded around to "icecube2", and he moved all in, having the rest of the table covered. "senor stinks" was the biggest of those three stacks, and he called off his final 493,000 with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. He couldn't have been in much better shape, as "icecube2" showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. The case queen came on the flop of {q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, meaning that "icecube2" was left drawing dead.

Million Chip Flip for "GameofEdges"

Blinds: 8,000/16,000

"GameofEdges" raised to 32,000 from under the gun, and "BabyRaizer" moved all in for his final 470,000. It folded back to "GameofEdges", who called, barely having "BabyRaizer" covered.

"GameofEdges": {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
"BabyRaizer": {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

"GameofEdges" shot right out to the lead on the flop of {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and he wouldn't let that lead go, as the board finished out {8-Spades} and {2-Diamonds}.

Level 21 Chip Count Updates

Double Up For "Wsopboy1997"

Blinds: 7,000/14,000

After a raise on the button from "CrookedF00T", "Wsopboy1997" moved all in from the small blind for his final 150,000 and change with {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. "CrookedF00T" called to put him at risk with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. The sevens would hold on a board that was just ten high in the end, and he doubled up to nearly 320,000.

One Hour Left to Play Tonight

It's nearing midnight on the East Coast, which means play is just about to wrap up for the night. Just 73 players remain, meaning that players should reach the money before play ends tonight. Stay tuned to find out who is able to virtually bag up the chip lead in this Main Event, where the winner will take home over $22,000!
