2021 New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP)

Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski can call himself the most recent PokerStars New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) champion, taking down Event #16-H via heads-up chop for $3,619.

Tentnowski outlasted a field of 82 to reach the top, with his victory coming by way of a heads-up match that lasted just four hands with runner-up Ross "rosseg" Gottlieb. The two were agreeable partners to a three-way deal with eventual third-place finisher st0neydanza, but the latter did not wish to partake. After heads-up play was reached and a deal was struck that left $250 on the table, Gottlieb got ace-ten all in preflop against Tentnowski's pocket jacks and that was all she wrote.

Other notable in-the-money finishers included Ryan "hagz2richez" Hagerty (14th - $381) and Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon (7th - $610).

Plenty more were less fortunate, including the likes of Angel "Chr0meKing" Lopez, Michael "J3tBl@ckP0pe" Gagliano, Mike "FortheThrill" Haberman, and Dan "monkeyman067" Sewnig.

In Level 26 with blinds of 10,000/20,000, Ross "Rosseg" Gottlieb and Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski immediately agreed to a deal upon getting heads up with one another. Per tournament requirements, $250 was left for the winner. When all was said and done, updated payouts left $3,619 going to the winner and $3,167 going to the second-place finisher.

Four hands into the match, Tentnowski opened to 40,000 on the button and Gottlieb re-jammed for 795,716. Tentnowski immediately called.

A king-high runout left Tentnowski's jacks best and the final pot of the tournament was sent his way, earning him the title for NJSCOOP Event #16-H as Gottlieb became the runner-up to the event.

In Level 26 with blinds of 10,000/20,000 and an ante of 2,500, "st0neydanza" opened to 46,600 on the button and Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski defended his big blind.

The flop fell and Tentnowski checked-jammed over a continuation-bet of 33,210 from "st0neydanza", who called off their remaining 220K with the hopes of finding a double.

"st0neydanza" was out in front with second pair and a gutshot straight draw against Tentnowski's flush draw. Tentnowski picked up five new outs on the turn , but one of the original nine came on the river to give him a flush and eliminate "st0neydanza" from the tournament in third place.

In Level 25 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski shoved in the small blind for "Dkornblau"s effective stack of 164,398 in the big blind. A call was made.

"Dkornblau" needed to hold against Tentnowski's two live cards and was unable to do so on the turn of a runout , resulting in their ace high losing to a pair of sixes to bring about their fourth-place finish good for $1,372.

In Level 24 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, action folded to "Batzz88" in the small blind and they shoved for 114,266. "Dkornblau" called in the big blind.

They were left needing to hit running spades or running quads to double, or for the board to bring a straight to chop. Aall of those hopes were dashed on the turn , leaving them drawing dead to the river to bring about their fifth-place finish in the tournament.

In Level 24 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, "pompii23" open-jammed in the small blind for 194,224 just two hands after their prior double. "st0neydanza" called in the big blind.

The flop gave "pompii23" an excellent shot at doubling twice in short succession, but a running turn and river put "st0neydanza" back on top, improving them to trips and eliminating "pompii23" from the tournament in sixth place.

In Level 24 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon opened to 56,000, leaving less than one big blind remaining in hisstack. Action folded to Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski in the big blind and he clicked the raise button to put Buzgon all in, with Buzgon calling and putting himself in a position where he needed to hold to double.

Buzgon remained out in front through the flop but the turn gave Tentnowski two pair. Buzgon failed to hit the six outer on the river , and as a result was eliminated in seventh place.

In Level 23 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "TiltedHard" shoved in middle position for their last 45,469 and action folded around to Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski in the big blind, who called.

"TiltedHard" picked up the nut flush draw on the turn of a runout but ultimately left themselves found high and dry to finish in eighth place in the tournament.

In Level 20 with blinds of 3,500/7,000 and an ante of 875, "OtB_RedHeron" open-jammed in the small blind and Ross "Rosseg" Gottlieb thought for a few moments in the big blind before clicking the call button.

The flop gave Gottlieb top pair but "OtB_RedHeron" also had a royal flush draw. Unfortunately for them, running left it all dry en route to giving Gottlieb trips. The pot of nearly 200,00 was sent his way, leaving "OtB_RedHeron" with nothing left in their stack and resulting in them taking ninth place in the tournament.

All eight remaining players have now made the final table, though the eventual eighth-place finisher will not receive a payjump from the $419 earned for ninth.

In Level 18 with blinds of 2,500/5,000 and an ante of 625, action folded to "Batzz88" on the button and they open-jammed to put both players in the blinds all in. "BLACKKOWBOYZ" obliged from the small blind.

"BLACKKOWBOYZ" was unable to avoid the three outer, with the runout ultimately coming to leave their tens counterfeited to the point of being nothing but a kicker. Meanwhile, "Betz88" took down the pot with their full house and eliminated "BLACKKOWBOYZ" in 15th place as the official bubble finisher as a result.

All 14 remaining players are now in the money and have locked up at least $381 for their performances.
