2021 New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP)

Another slate of events is on the calendar Wednesday night for the 2021 PokerStars New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP), and the largest of them all is Event #16-H: $200 NLHE [7-Max, Exit 7], $12.5K Gtd.

Registration is open for all located inside New Jersey state lines with play set to begin at 8 p.m. ET. This event features starting stacks of 25,000 with blinds beginning at 80/160 and a 20-ante and levels increasing every 10 minutes for the duration of the one-night event. Late registration will remain open for two hours and 40 minutes, closing at 10:40 p.m. ET.

Players are allowed up to five re-entries should they wish to utilize them, meaning a total of six bullets may be fired into the event. As per the 7-Max format, play will be seven handed all tournament long except for an eight-handed final table in lieu of two four-handed tables for the final table bubble.

More than dozen events have already been played to their completion at three buy-in levels (low, medium, and high). In total, 55 events will be run at each buy-in level between May 8-24 with $1.2 million in guarantees spread across those events. The following marquee events will feature PokerNews live reporting coverage, culminating with the $300 buy-in Main Event that features a $100K guarantee.

In Level 4 with blinds of 150/300 and an ante of 40, Ross "Rosseg" Gottlieb opened to 600 in the hijack and Ryan "ISlowRollYou" Hohner called, defending his big blind.

The flop came and Hohner checked to Gottlieb, who continuation-bet 625. Hohner check-raised to 2,091 and Gottlieb called.

Hohner continued for another 1,500 on the turn and Gottlieb called again, bringing the river . Hohner bet a final time for 5,877 and Gottlieb shoved all in, effectively putting Hohner to a decision for his remaining 12,000. Hohner folded.

In Level 9 with blinds of 400/800 and an ante of 100, "NikkieBlueEyes" opened the action with a raise to 1,600 in the hijack and Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski re-jammed for 22,008 on the button. Ryan "ISlowRollYou" Hohner was in the small blind and also shoved his stack of 36,185 into the middle, prompting a fold from "NikkieBlueEyes"

Tentnowski was in trouble with his ace-queen running into two aces. He found three outs to Broadway by the turn of a runout , but Hohner's aces remained best when all was said and done and Tentnowski was forced to fire again as a result.

In Level 14 with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and an ante of 250, action folded to "pompii23" on the button and they open-jammed for 35,721 effective, which "DavidM07407" had in the big blind and called off.

The flop gave both players top pair and "pompii23" found the nut flush draw to go with their already dominating kicker. "DavidM07407" was then left with only two remaining cards in the deck to earn them the double and the turn left them drawing dead. The river completed the runout and "pompii23" scored the pot of 73,000 and accompanying knockout with their two pair, aces up, and their stack has now ballooned to nearly 150K.

The two-hour-and-forty-minute late registration period has come and gone, meaning the field is now set and prize pool information is official. Eighty-two entries generated a total prize pool of $15,252, exceeding the $12.5k guarantee by 22%.

Twenty-six players currently remain and the top 14 will make it into the money, earning at least a first-level payout of $381. Payouts will increase at regular intervals from there with the eventual champion earning $4,003. Full payout information can be found in the Payouts Tab above.

In Level 17 with blinds of 2,000/4,000 and an ante of 500, "OMGnealpeart" open-shoved for their last 20,050 in the cutoff and received action from Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon in the small blind.

Buzgon wound up winning the coin flip as the runout came , ultimately giving him a straight and eliminating "OMGnealpeart" in 19th place.

In rapid-fire succession shortly thereafter, Steven "FadeOrHoldz" Madara then ran into the of "st0neydanza" to finish in 18th place and Angel "Chr0meKing" Lopez got his last chips in with to the of "NikkieBlueEyes". An ace on the flop spelled the end of his tournament life in 17th place.

"djjoelz" was then eliminated in 16th immediately thereafter, losing a coin flip with to the of "Dkornblau", and hand-for-hand play now is in effect with 15 players remaining and one more bust out needed to reach the money.

In Level 18 with blinds of 2,500/5,000 and an ante of 625, action folded to "Batzz88" on the button and they open-jammed to put both players in the blinds all in. "BLACKKOWBOYZ" obliged from the small blind.

"BLACKKOWBOYZ" was unable to avoid the three outer, with the runout ultimately coming to leave their tens counterfeited to the point of being nothing but a kicker. Meanwhile, "Betz88" took down the pot with their full house and eliminated "BLACKKOWBOYZ" in 15th place as the official bubble finisher as a result.

All 14 remaining players are now in the money and have locked up at least $381 for their performances.

In Level 20 with blinds of 3,500/7,000 and an ante of 875, "OtB_RedHeron" open-jammed in the small blind and Ross "Rosseg" Gottlieb thought for a few moments in the big blind before clicking the call button.

The flop gave Gottlieb top pair but "OtB_RedHeron" also had a royal flush draw. Unfortunately for them, running left it all dry en route to giving Gottlieb trips. The pot of nearly 200,00 was sent his way, leaving "OtB_RedHeron" with nothing left in their stack and resulting in them taking ninth place in the tournament.

All eight remaining players have now made the final table, though the eventual eighth-place finisher will not receive a payjump from the $419 earned for ninth.

In Level 23 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "TiltedHard" shoved in middle position for their last 45,469 and action folded around to Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski in the big blind, who called.
