PACOOP 2023
PACOOP 2023

The Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP) is coming to an end, but not before the biggest buy-in event of the series takes place. Event #83: $2,500 No Limit Hold’em High Roller Championship had plenty of action despite having a smaller field compared to other events in the series.

A total of 70 players competed for a prize pool of $166,250, with "despicable_you" emerging as the winner. They received both the trophy and the top prize of $44,873 after defeating Andrew "and_porter" Porter in heads-up play. "despicable_you" entered heads-up play with a massive chip lead and managed to secure the victory after just a few orbits.

Final Table Action

The final table bubble was also the money bubble with only nine players making the money and securing a minimum cash of $5,330.

Almost immediately after the bubble burst it was “yaces_fool” who would be the first to fall in ninth place. This was followed up by "BDGEJLM" who would get coolered on their way to the rail when their ace-king fell to the flush of “Rob570” when all the chips got in pre-flop.

“despicable_you” then got their first knockout of the final table when they eliminated "TryptophanMan" with ace-queen defeating "TryptophanMan" pocket sixes. Next to hit the rail was “vaysmoney” in sixth place after their ace-ten could not improve against the pocket eights of Michael "fubadbeatbob" McNicholas. “StrikeNaturally” would hit the rail in fifth place after losing a standard flip to “Rob570”.

“Rob570” would then jam button with ace-three a few hands later and get called by the ace-nine of future champ “despicable_you”. “Rob570” could not improve and hit the rail in fourth. Michael "fubadbeatbob" McNicholas held the chip lead for a portion of the final table but ultimately fell in third place when his pocket duces lost to the flopped top pair of runner-up Andrew "and_porter" Porter.

This brought us to heads up play where “despicable_you” started with about an 8:1 chip lead. Although Porter was able to secure a double-up it would not be enough to take down the jaugernaut that was “despicable_you” on their way to the victory. Porter put up a good fight, but "despicable_you" ultimately won the trophy, the top prize of $44,873.
