The 2020 Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker [PACOOP], the second edition after a successful inaugural series that paid out over $1.5M across the state's residents, kicked off yesterday. Today, PokerNews begins its coverage of the 2020 PACOOP with live updates from the first of eight covered tournaments. In addition, we'll be offering a live stream from the Main Event on October 4 & 5.

Those residing in Pennsylvania can look forward to a 50-event series on PokerStars PA running now through October 5. The 17-day festival offers $1.5 million in guaranteed prize money, with the $300 NLHE, $200K guaranteed Main Event on Sunday, October 4 as the highlight of the series.

Buy-ins for the festival range from $20 all the way up to $500, with the schedule taking care of the PLO- and mixed-game aficionados as well. Satellites for the PACOOP will appear soon in the PokerStars PA client.

For those that come up short into one of the PACOOP events, special freeroll tickets are awarded with $1,250 in satellite tickets and entries to other PACOOP events being awarded. These Second Chance Freerolls run daily at 6:50 p.m. ET from Sept. 20-Oct. 3, with one more on Oct. 4 at 4:50 p.m.

To spice things up, a special Main Event Depositor Freeroll will be played out on Sunday, October 4 at 2 p.m. ET. Players who deposit at least $30 while using the code PACOOP will receive a ticket to the special freeroll with $7,500 in Main Event entries (30 seats) added to the prize pool.

"crazypolock19" Check-Calls Way to Big Pot

In Level 2 (150/300/40), "Homie Sr" raised to 660 from middle position and "newryder" called from the cutoff. "crazypolock19" came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop.

"crazypolock19" checked, "Homie Sr" continued for 747, and "newryder" raised to 3,039. "crazypolock19" check-called and "Homie Sr" got out of the way before the {4-Clubs} appeared on the turn.

"crazypolock19" check-called a bet of 5,400 and then checked for the third time on the {5-Clubs} river.

"newryder" checked behind and mucked when "crazypolock19" tabled the {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a full house.

One Outer on the River Sends "Homie Sr" Out the Door

In Level 2 (150/300/40), "Bituminous B" opened for 850 from early position and then called when "Homie Sr" three-bet all in for 4,631 from the small blind.

"Bituminous B": {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
"Homie Sr": {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

It was a race and things looked good when the {q-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop paired "Homie Sr". The {5-Spades} turn gave "Homie Sr" a spade flush draw, which meant the only way they would bust would be if the four of diamonds appeared on the river.

Well, the one outer came in as the {4-Diamonds} did in fact peel off to give "Bituminous B" the elimination.
