The guarantee has already been met in Event #2: $1,100 No Limit Hold’em at the PokerStars Summer Series at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia. There is already a whopping $353,320 in the prize pool and today’s flight is likely to be the largest yet. Day 1a chip leader Robert Elias bagged a healthy 776,000, Nicholas Skyllas was in last night’s flight and bagged a massive 791,000, and Michael Cologna put 680,000 in a bag.

Solano Has a Hot Start

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Gilberto Solano opened in middle position to 400 with action folding to the button, who put in a three-bet to 1,300. It was then back on Solano who didn't take long before announcing a four-bet to 3,100. The button thought it over and eventually called.

The flop looked like action in the form of KAA but surprisingly action checked through to a 3 turn.

Solano threw out a bet of 5,000. It was then on the button who didn't think long before folding jacks face up.

Solano dragged the pot and was also seen putting in another three-bet just a few hands later.

Piotr Kowal
Piotr Kowal

With a board showing 4K9, the small blind checked before Piotr Kowal checked his option in the cutoff. Action was then on the button, who put out a bet of 1,200. The small blind called and then Kowal put in a large check-raise to 3,900. The button folded and action was back on the small blind who put in the chips for a call.

The 8 landed on the turn and the small blind check-called another 10,000 bet from Kowal.

The J landed on the river and the small blind checked again. Kowal didn't take long before moving all in for 20,000. The small blind went into the tank for over a minute before making the call.

Kowal tabled K9 for a flopped two pair and scooped a massive pot early in the day.

Raymond Gets Some Thin Value

Level 2 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Action was opened by the cutoff to 600. It then folded to James Raymond in the big blind who three-bet to 2,000. The cutoff called and they were off to a flop heads up.

The 3K2 landed on the flop and Raymond continued for 1,200. The cutoff called.

The 10 turn made the board quite a bit more connected but Raymond still fired for 3,200. The cutoff called again.

The 3 landed on the river and Raymond took his time before slowing down with a check. The cutoff checked behind.

Raymond tabled K7 for a light three-bet and some thin value bets on two streets. He scooped and was in the very next hand.
